dont know. British army start at around £12,000-£13,000 which is roughly $25,000. Not bad for new recruits. Within a year they can be on £16,000 ( $32,000 ). Infantry can get as high as £32,000 ( $64,000 ). Now the US dont pay anywhere near that. That includes no benifits thats just basic pay. High earners get £150,000+ ( $300,000 ) with many benifits. We have to be up there with the highest. Its set to increase aswell.

I suspect it may be the Swiss. They have a unique system that requires all males between (if I remember correctly) ages 18 and 60 to serve for 6? weeks every year. The way I understand their system, they are paid by their regular employers and by the military while they serve, and since ALL serve some are paid very well indeed. For example consider a senior executive who would add military pay to his regular pay and you have a very well paid soldier indeed.

infantryman dont get extra pay .. they just work their asses off by fighting the frontlines..but if you are an officer in any branch you get paid more than a regular soldier
