It's meat, and I would think that the meat itself can come from just about any animal. The point about pepperoni is the spices that are used to create it.
That means that you'll have to check the label of ask what's in it, not whether or not it's from any given animal. That's because it's easy to say yes or no, and even if you are told no, it could be yes. But by asking an open-ended question, you force something other than a yes or no answer.
If you can't get an answer, ignore that particular product. But if you still want the pepperoni flavours and a similar texture, there a veggie versions.
