i have dark brown hair, nearly black actually...and i've been hearing a lot about lemon juice being used for lighter hair, if i use it, (meaning darker hair) what will the results be like...? and maybe if i use only a tid-bit and sit in the sun for a limited amount of time, can i avoid the famous orange tint ive been hearing about that lemon juice gives to darker hair...? im not worried about anything else, i have strong thick hair so it shouldn't really do toooo much damage, thanks!!

I really don't know. Avocodoes are better for hair with a little yogurt.

Your hair is almost black. Lemon juice will turn your hair dark orange, plus damage it in the process. Citric acid in the lemon will make your hair feel like straw! Your hair is too dark to be lightened with lemon. You would have to sit in the sun for HOURS to get a light orange color. Don't waste your time, if you want lighter hair, see a professional! It's not worth it.

It would take quite a while for lemon juice to lighten up really dark hair. Also, it may give you more of a reddish tint than anything else. I've used it before, along with Sun-In, and they both work really well, but my hair is a medium brown color. (It turns it blonde)

My mom's solution really is the best. Though I was jealous that my blond sister was able to use lemon juice as a rinse, the vinegar I had to use (apple cider only) made my brown hair gleam like crazy! If you're used to the feel of conditioner, you might not enjoy the more sleek feel of the vinegar, but if shine and beauty are what you're looking for, you won't go wrong. Make sure you don't use white vinegar! You can wear it in the sun with no problem and it will naturally lighten in your own shade!

It's not a good idea and sometimes if you don't wash out the lemon juice out well enough exposure to the sun will cause blisters. Sun In product is barely better, but it's an alternative.
The color will be very coppery like you've put chlorine on your hair.

Use lemon juice and a blow dryer. it is going to besides the undeniable fact that be in basic terms a very easy shade substitute using lemon juice regardless of while you're out interior the solar. There was a product called "solar-In". it would want for use with the solar or a blow dryer. go searching and notice regardless of if it continues to be bought. i've got self belief this is. Wal Mart used to have it. stable success

don't do it! I made the mistake of putting lemon juice on my dark hair and it had an orange hue. My mother said she could see the orange halo as she was driving down the street! LOL Save your yourself the heartache and disappointment and go get a professional color if you are looking to lighten your hair.

yeah, it works if theres sun. you can use this stuff called sun-in to lighten it as well. but with both methods, dark hair will become orange if you have that tint in your hair

You can go to a salon and have them dye it for you. Or you can go buy some dye and do it yourself, start off with a medium brown since your hair is so dark.

lemon juice does nothing for hair follicles...contact your hair salon, they offer the best advice and can help you if things go bad.
