What do they do that makes them seem so psycho to you? My mum is nuts..the cause of my nervous breakdown at only 17!

Does anyone have the kind of parent that is completely controlling especially trying to make you someone you're not? Mum controls absolutely every aspect of my life and i'm not allowed to have an opinion. Apparently she's never wrong etc and our family is completely disfunctional because of her. It probably doesn't sound like much but that's beacause i'm limited to 1000 words. Some other family members who have seen her in action are absolutely in shock and neither me or any of my siblings feel any sort of love towards her at all. My sister has been hospitalized 4 times in the last 3 years from anxiety caused by mum..so the doctors say. She's insane literally...she's got split personalities but refuses to accept it. She think's she's perfect and that it's her right to control our life!

When my parents were separated and my father moved out, my mom was going out one night (drinking and partying, while I was only 16) and she caught my father hiding in the trunk of her car...he was trying to follow her to where she was going, to see if she was having sex with anyone else. I heard them one night arguing, before they divorced, and he was yelling, "I'm gonna do it, Pat! I swear to God I'll F***ing do it!!" My mom said, "Then do it already, or let me sleep asshole!" Next thing I knew, I heard a gunshot. I rolled over to go back to sleep because by then I really didn't want to know what happened. The next day they were both alive and my mom told me he just shot the couch bed...
My mother divorced my father because she thought she had married too young and missed out on her childhood. So she began a partying streak that paled even my high school exploits. She ended up having sex with at least one kid I went to school with, maybe two. Two months before I was going to be out of school for summer (17 years old), she decided to move to another city with her boyfriend (a dirtbag) to start a new life. She left me with a friend...I basically got kicked out when I was 17 and have been on my own since then. I did eventually move to the city my mother lived in and I have been here for almost twenty years now. I don't see my mother anymore because she maintains such a wasted lifestyle that I can't bear to be around. But on the plus side, I grew up alright. I have a job with the state, I am reasonably intelligent, and reasonably sane. I was able to marry and have been for almost 7 years. I intend to stay with her forever.
So no matter what it feels like now, take it from me...our parents lay the ground work for who we will be, but they don't have to finish us off...

Does a nutty father & a back stabbing sister count ??
My adopted father & adopted sister have called my daughter(21) a whore, prostitute, drug dealer, etc, etc since she was just 13
but deny ever saying it even when both my daughter & myself
have witnesses who had them say these things to them(their friends,my ex wife, sisters own children).
I feel like just going there & cutting their tongues out but have decided to just not even contact them apart from a card on their birthday.
They sit at the dining room table allday running down me,my daughter,my ex wife & anyone else they can think of.
If anyone they have been running down rings or calls in their all
"oh hi great to see you, want a cuppa ??"

My mom is neurotic, she thinks everyone is out to get her, and shes an alchoholic on top of that (which she claims is my fault), she has been in rehab 7 times since she married my dad (which is actually where they first met), not to mention the fact that by state law doctors are not allowed to perscribe her zanex and vicodin, but you know what? Shes my mom and i love her no matter what, and no matter how agravated she may make me most of the time.
