my daughter brought some home from school about 5 years ago... I freaked out, we tried all the medicated shampoos, even a prescription from the dr's office and as soon as she went back to school within a couple days she had them again........UGH! We treated all the furniture I even bought new pillows and comforters, and soaked the sheets and beds in bleach water. We finally got rid of them completely with OLIVE OIL, yes regular old olive oil, you apply it before you go to bed, (it feels nasty but there are no harsh chemicals for your body to absorb) and put a shower cap on then go to sleep, when you wake up use a very fine tooth comb and comb the heck out of your hair, then shampoo with DAWN dish soap, its the only way to get the oil out. Best of luck to you. The oil suffocates the lice and nits, once the nits are dead they come off the hair easily.

Very simple! You go to the drugstore, and there are a couple of different brands of shampoo made specifically for head lice. Get that and use it according to directions! What could be easier. And don't get them again. You get them from someone that is infected -- stay away from them, and don't share anything personal of theirs. You SHOULD go to a hairdresser's and have them get rid of the lice. That is something they are trained to do, and they have the right products for that. That is part of their job. If you have had them for 3 months (OMG!!), I can only assume you must rather like them. Otherwise, you surely would have done something immediately to get rid of them. Be sure to wash everything you have been in contact with (bedding, towels, clothes, hats, etc.) in hot soapy water and dry in a hot dryer. If you got foils (and I am assuming you meant to say you have streaks in your hair), then you cannot do a good job of a retouch of the roots. That was understood when you had all this done in the first place long before. Whatever colour you do to your roots, you are going to get some of it on the rest of your hair, and your bleached streaks are going to pick up the colour very fast. You need to be really careful how you do this. The best you can do is apply some conditioner or something else that will coat your hair (the streaks) so that you don't get any of the root colour on them. Be sure it is the right colour so it blends with the rest of your hair -- you don't want a band at the roots that is a different colour like you have now. But with so much regrowth, and the bleached ends... I'm not sure that is a very good look. You also need to have the roots streaked too, and that is really had to do properly, and practically impossible to do yourself. You got yourself into a real mess, and it is going to take a lot of work to fix it. Get rid of the lice first, then worry about the colour. Do only one thing at a time. You might be better off getting professional help this time.

Lice look like little white or gray dots on the hair, especially in the back near the neck line.
Extremely hot temperatures can kill them so blowdry your hair like there is no tomorrow... wash all your sheets, clothes, etc. in very hot water.
And for goodness sake, go buy lice shampoo and wash your hair. Even if you didn't have it, the shampoo is effective for a day or so after you use it so it will provide extra protection against catching it.

I think u and your friends both need the treatment. Go to a drug store and look for any shampoo containing Permethrin 1%

Apply it thickly to your hair and leave it on for 15 minutes and then just rinse it all out. Comb your hair after rinsing the stuff out. The dead lice and nits will come out. Make sure your friend uses the same.

You HAVE to buy the shampoo. Headlice look like little crawling dots. The white oval things you see in your friends hair are lice eggs called nits.

say ***** get your head checked your crawlin. Then get yours checked....lice isnt the end of the world it washes out with the right treatment.

But FYI lice like clean hair so in the future dont wash your hair every day and use some sort of daily hair products like leave in conditioner or hair cream to help keep them away.
Get your mom to check you for them....they look like little white bugs that stick to you

Unfortunately there are no at home treatments to kill lice. Go to the drugstore and by RID. You may have to apply it more than once, but nothing else KILLS THE LICE!
