It's the same as saying I love you and he/she is asking for some affection from you. My Rottweiler will come up and rub her head against my leg and if I don't pet her, she will set down in front of me and set there looking up at me with her sad eyes. If I try walking off, she will get in front of and block my path, then when I rub her head, she gets all excited.

My dog was rubbing his head on anything he could and then we started seeing drainage. The vet said it was a bad ear infection and now he's on 2 different pills and and ear wash and an antibiotic ear drop. Take him to the vet, that's probably why he's rubbing his head.

Two guesses, make sure they are bathed and don't have fleas or ticks! Also, check their eyes and make sure they dont have any discharge or an infection. Sometimes dogs will rub their heads on people because their eyes itch. An eye problem gone untreated could be bad!

My dogs rub their heads on me, when they want some extra loving. Your dog is probably looking for some extra attention or loving.
