Which of these dresses would look best on a shorter female with a round mid section and big lower body. (ignore the colors, actual dress will be a wine color)

Which will hid a tummy the best?? HELP

Is the top portion too tight?

Is the cinched mid section going to accentuate the stomach area too much? Seeing how the cinched material is up high, will stomach pooch portrude from the bottom?

Is the material too sheer? Will it cling and balloon a body out?

THIS ONE IS YOUR DRESS GIRL!

It is not strapless (as your breasts will eventually start pulling down on the dress and making the rest of the evening uncomfortable)

The second one has WAY too much going on.
Third one is cute and just as good as the fourth but as long as your belt is the SAME color as the dress. Don't draw the eye to the midsection if you don't want to accentuate it..........

The last two dressed are most forviging with the long "A" line shape. The dress has straps thick enough for a nice bra and you can NEVER go wrong with a deep V cut.... You will automatically have the eyes drawn from the face down the V..... That is ALL THEY WILL SEE - I GARANTEE....... It is a VERY flattering line......

They are all beautiful gowns, but none of those choices will hide a tummy. The main problem being, they all accentuate the midsection with a tie, bow, sash, etc. They all make the eye go directly to the midsection unfortunately. Like someone else said, you need an A-line with a fuller skirt and more fitted bodice. Embellishment at the top will draw the eye away from the middle.

I would go with #2... I think the cinched mid section would help mask the noticability of the pooch.

The problems with #1 and #3 is that they both have some type of bow or ribbon on the mid section, which I personally feels like that draws the eye and attention to the stomach.

They are all attractive gowns...good luck!

I like the second dress. You can wear a gurdle( for lack of a better word) to tuck in the tummy. The design on the mid-section and the top of the dress bring your eyes up, so it disgies you belly. It will also make you look taller as long as you get one that just barely touches the ground. Those all are beautiful dresses.

Actually, to hide a bulge in the mid section, you want an A-line skirt, and a fitted bodice. If the skirt is fuller, it will mask the bulge. Try to have a bodice that has detail near the bust area, which will draw attention away from the bulge.

All of the dresses are pretty, but none of them will mask bulge well at all.

I like dress #1 and #4. I have the exact problem you've described, and those would be the dresses I feel would look best. That being said, you have to watch if their arms are very flabby. If they are, a light shawl, (lacy?)or maybe a shrug would help to hid it. (Luckily, I don't have arm problems) If you are still undecided, let the ladies try on the dresses and decide which ones they look best in with you getting the final say. Good Luck.

I would go with either the first or last one. The second one seems like it would bring out the bulge rather than hide it. I have the first one picked out for my bridemaids dresses, too :) Anyway, I wouldn't go with the 2nd or 3rd, and I can't tell you which to actually go with, but personally, I think the last one would be best. Good luck and congrats!

I think number 3 would look the best. The fabric seems to float over the tummy not cling.

If we have to pick one of these choices, I would say #2 primarily because of the wrap b/c it could help hide heavier arms and the material around the middle, it could help as well. good luck - remember darker colors are more slimming. Best wishes!
