What can I do to fix it? It will play a video and then if I try to play another one it just freezes and it's all messed up... It's REALLY bugging me..

yeah i have windows media player 11, the black one....but it still freezes after i try to watch a different video, or close it. sometimes it will play a couple of videos... i don't know what's happened to it...

1.) make sure its fully patched

2.) try shutting down the player first rather than simply double clicking a new file while another one is playing.

3.) if it does freeze up, open task manager (you may or may not be able to depending on how your account is setup) and stop the process called 'wmplayer.exe' - when its running, its listed on the processes tab by that image name.

Right click the name and select 'End Process' You will get a warning, but this is one you can safely ignore - there is no data to loose really as you haven't written to the video files you are playing.

If freeze when it shows a special video and it is on CD copy it to your hard and try a again or examine your media player with another film or remove it and reinstall it by going to windows components in Add/remove in control panel

Could be a memory problem. If you're running Window XP with less than 512 mg of ram, I'll be surprised if you get any video..!! Also, if you have a Celeron chip, it could be a problem. Video takes a ton of memory and if you're watching one after another - it will affect the computer until you have lots of memory.

try to reinstall the media player.
but the problem cud be with ur PC too, may be there r lots of processes going on in the background, thts why it keeps freezing.

Have you updated to Media player 11 yet? If not you can try it here..http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx . Good luck.

Use media player classic http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Media_Player_Classic.htm
it'll play anything without problems!
