I applied for financial aid and was turned down because what my husband and I made in 2005. We haven't had any income for the 2006 tax year so I asked them to review it again so I can go this summer. I just received an email from FAFSA website saying that changes have been made from the school I am applying to. My EFC (estimated family contribution) was 3975(to high) and the school changed it to 1549. I didn't know if anyone knows if this low enough to get me qualified. The school said from the time all the paperwork from them is done it would be another 2 weeks. There's no way I can stay sane until then. Could anyone please help me try to figure this out. HELP!

I do not have a bank account so they don't know how much money I have. My husband and I moved into his grandparents house and haven't worked the whole 2006 tax year to look really really poor. (I'm one step ahead of you)

First I think the best person to answer this is someone in your financial aid office.
Also, when you fill out the forms did you put that you had no money in the bank and you had a lot of debt.... I had similar dilemna and that was the tip someone gave me... You need to look more poor so that they realize that you need the money for school.
