I am 16, I am about 5'8, and I weigh about 130, SOOOO... I realize that I have some serious muscle building to do over the next few years, and I was just wondering what would be about the minimum they would accept.

You will gain weight in basic if you are skinny. Just work on your upper body strength and that light frame will come in handy when you are running 5 miles a day. I was overweight and the running sucked but you should probably weigh about 150. I think that you can get in at your current weight though. I know we had some very skinny guys in and for your height, you are not overly skinny.

hey dont worry about it, im 17 5'9 and i weigh 130. Im joining the navy and the best way to prepare is start doing lots of push ups, sit ups, pull ups and start running your *** off. Try to get up to the point where u can do 200 pushups continuously, 2 sets of 15 pull ups and 200 sit ups, also like some one else mentioned u need to be able to run 5 miles atleast. As for the marines you have to meet a minimum weight based on your height but your fine you have be 128 if your 5'9 and the navy only has a weight maximum not a minimum so just start doing that and just realize boot camp is a game, its a very serious game but its still a game, follow the rules, dont giggle, do as your told and you'll do fine.

i'm not sure of weight. its all about your timing on your 1 1/2 mile run(navy) or 3 mile run(MC), the situps, pushups, and pullups

navy requrements:

5'7" tall
1 1/2 mile run - 12 mins
45-50 pushups bare minimum
60 pushups is the bare minimum i think
situps and pushups are timed for 2 minutes

ask a recuiter for more

There is not really a min body weight. They work more on your body fat percentage. If I remember correctly they look to have you under 24% body fat. Anything higher would require a medical waver....
