Ok I live in Milwaukee and I do contracted work for Midwest Airlines, AirTran is alot bigger that Midwest obviously, and AirTran doesn't seem to want to back off of this take-over. Midwest has an amazing reputation as an airline, and Midwest isn't all that happy. (Milwaukee is Midwests hub) In the city that you live in, what are the things that you hear about this take-over. Do you think Midwest will stay as is, or a takeover from AirTran?

It's business. Midwest might try to play on feelings of brand loyalty and keeping jobs in it's hometown markets--but only to hold out for a better offer from Airtran. Airtran has been on the hunt for a while, and I actually thought they were going to take TWA before AA got 'em. After 9-11, Airtran was in good cash position, but timing wasn't right. Currently, they have the lowest operating costs in the US and A, thanks mostly to the very efficient fleet of all-new Boeing 717s that they fly. I have read that, should they take over Midwest, the fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies would be extended throughout the airline. Mmm... fresh-baked cookies and 100 channel XM satellite radio at each seat... nice.

Ever since Midwest scaled (way) back their 2x2 spacious all leather seating, I don't see their product advantage any more. The route networks of both airlines complement each other better than just about any other "fit" two separate airlines could hope for (except maybe Airtran + Frontier). Airtran's affordable business upgrades would probably do well with current Midwest customers.

All that said... I'd call it 52/48 in favor of this merger NOT happening--at least not this year. But if it did, it wouldn't surprise me much, and these airlines' strengths could create nice synergies.

Midwest (and Midwest Connect) will stay as is.

Fvck off AirTran, get 717s from somewhere else.

I'm thinking AirTran will prevail in the end.... they are doing well and are seeking to expand, so have a good chance of pulling this off IMO. However, I do think that they'll dismantle the operation at MKE rather than using it as another hub.

Mmm... tasty 717s....

I haven't heard this rumor yet? I hope it doesn't materialize Midwest Airlines is an awesome carrier and well AirTran? sorry I've just had a bad taste in my mouth ever since they crashed in the everglades and decided to change their name from Value Jet to trick everybody into thinking they we're flying on a different airline.
I'm betting this is just all one ugly rumor.

particular. It develop into an particularly good adventure. they provide you nutrition on each flight. And that is unfastened. in basic terms concern with the flight develop right into a climate suitable postpone, no longer their fault. i want to advise them because of the fact their no longer high priced yet hey have large provider. the only turn away is their intense checked bag cost, yet I in basic terms introduced a save on so i develop into good. in case you're questioning, I flew Omaha to Washington Reagan via ability of Milwaukee and decrease back. i could no longer help you be attentive to approximately their Atlanta hub.
