If you both really want it to.. I'm in my fourth year of college (3 hours away from my b/f) and he's been there for all 4 years and we haven't had a problem.. well, except missing each other, but you'll have that.

I pursued a long distance relationship in college for 2 years and I would recommend not going that route, especially if you are just entering college. This is a time in your life that you should experience dating different people and experience focusing on college instead of the next time you are going to get to see your girlfriend who is at another college. I spent several weekends traveling to see my boyfriend at the time and I really regret not staying on campus on weekends to spend time with my friends. Ironically enough, my boyfriend and I broke up during college and got back together after college. Date around and if your current girlfriend is really the one, you can find a way to make things work.

Does Not work all the time!

If you know your each other well in terms of faithfulness, then it might work well for you.

But , not to forget, there are temptations out there even when you love each other. Lonliness carry people to end up with someone into a bed. Loneliness can be a temptation where you or her will be needing each other, and to calm those pressures down, you will end up with somebody else for company, because of the needing of your heart (her) and vice versa.

If I were you, I would end the relationship right there the day she is leaving.

Sadly, they usually do not. Also people change sometimes when they go away. You are both at a stage of continued development and naturally should grow apart during a separation. I hate to be raining on your parade but this is what I have seen happen to others. Good Luck.

it can work but only if the two of you put effort into maintaining it and be completely honest with each other.
