How can a guy go from not even talking to a girl to dating her?

I'm 16 (male). There are a few girls (one or two in particular) that i am "friends" with but never really talk to. Some of them are in one or two of my classes. My question is, how do you just start conversation with people who are already in their little "clicks" and who u never really talk to much?

We talked more a year or two ago, but not as much now. Any suggestions?

when she isnt with her friends, say walking home, strike up a conversation, then just ask her out. she'll probably say yes. hope it works
