I was an EMT for 17 years and seen death quite a bit. The eyes get lacklustered. Did you know that the eyes are the eyegate to the spirit and it is the spirit that gives life, so when the spirit leaves the body the life also exits and you will see the evidence of it in the eyes.

Yes, I used to work in a nursing home...but it got to be too much seeing people in pain CONSTANTLY. As evil as that may sound, I was almost glad for the ones that died. They were in such a horrible condition and sooo old...most of them WANTED to die..they would constantly say it. They have already lived their lives...but now. the nursing home is like a waiting room. Sorry for your father- he's in a better place now. God takes care of everyone and loves everyone- no matter what they did in their lives. That's my beleif anyways...

No. My mother died this year, Jan. 6th, in her sleep, following a long, frustrating illness. How I wish I could have been with her. Irony would have it that she died in the very room where she gave birth to me.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your parents, and I can only imagine the feeling of being there with your father and how much that must have meant to him. Peace be with you and yours.

Yes I have. I have watched the life ebb away from enemies as they lay daying, cursing me with their last breath. I also watched the light slowly dim as my wife lay dying in my arms after a car wreck in 1985.

Yes, the eyes look empty and cold after the person takes their last breath.

twice, a good friend of mine got shot outside a bar we were at and i was tying to keep him calm until the ambulance got there. the other time i was choking this guy that tried to stab me with a beer bottle that he had just busted over my head. i got off on self defence cause every body saw him attack me and i was just trying to make him pass out cause he kept ahold of the bottle until his windpipe collapsed. after that cops busted in with guns pointed at me so i just got on my knees and put my hands behind my head.

Yeah, it sucks. Especially whne it's the little girl who bled to death in my arms after she was hit by a car. It's not pretty.
