WHY IN THE HELL IS NOTHING BEING DONE ABOUT ELDERLY ABUSE IN THESE "F*CKING HELL HOLES" THAT GET PAID TO (PROTECT,PROVIDE,CARE,FEED,LOVE,BATHE,EXERCISE,TALK TO,PLAY GAMES WITH,TELL STORIES TO AND BE TREATED LIKE HUMAN BEINGS(CUZ THEY ARE, AND BEAUTIFUL ONES AT THAT.)WHY IN GODS NAME ARE THESE PEOPLE THAT ARE OLD AND SICK, SAD AND LONELY, FRIGHTENED AND SCARED, JUST LEFT THERE TO DIE,CUZ NOBODY WANTS THEM! AND THEN GET ABUSED TOO! FOR GOD-SAKE THIS SHOULD NEVER, EVER HAPPEN TO THESE PEOPLE! WHO ARE MOTHERS, FATHERS, SISTERS AND BROTHERS, AUNTS,UNCLES AND MOST OF ALL GODS CHILDREN! FOR GOD-SAKE THEY DESERVE TO BE TREATED LIKE A "PRECIOUS GEM" INSTEAD OF A PILE OF SH*T! I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS WORLD CAN BE SO CRUEL IN LETTING THIS HAPPEN TO THEM, AND KNOW ABOUT IT FOR THAT MATTER! IT IS BAD ENOUGH WHEN FAMILIES JUST THROW AWAY THEIR LOVED ONES, AS IF THEY WERE GARBAGE! HOW DARE THIS HAPPEN! AND HOW DARE IT TO CONTINUE TO HAPPEN! Wow you are an angry ant. But I agree. There are good stories too, my wife has worked in aged care for over 20 years. You know the pay is lousy and she could get better pay being a cleaner. However, she told me once that she loves her work. Her attitude is that the men and women she cares for are like her own parents. She treats them as she would like someone to treat her parents. She says she has worked with bad people but mainly all of her co-workers are caring and honest. So take some heart. By all means though, we should get the bast**ds who ill treat older people and make them pay, take away their freedom.

I agree, it's horrible what happens in nursing homes. I have a friend who is a CNA and he said the best treatment he ever saw of elderly people was in a monastery where the catholic priests retire. They get treated like royalty. It makes me mad, everyone should be treated the same way. It's horrible to say but I hope I'm either dead or senile before I end up in a home if they aren't improved before that time.

America does those mostly b/c we have no respect for the elderly when they are no use to us anymore. And I will come to the defense of some homes b/c I worked in one and they were not abused but some of the residents were abusive to the staff and the staff can't fight back of course but have to use other methods to control them. I couldn't/t continue that job b/c I got very stressed out and it physically mad me ill and I knew I had to quit. But in some places you are right and if you know for a fact that is going on then you need to report it.

The government would rather spend money somewhere else where they can increase their own wealth and not have to worry about ending up in one of those hell holes. We have already spent almost a trillion dollars in Iraq for a war that is only making Bush and his friends millions and millions of dollars while our eldering cannot afford medicine to stay alive and live a comfortable life and many have to live on the streets because they cannot afford housing. What a shame and "shame shame" on our government.......

because even though it is disgusting, some people just feed off the weak and lonely... Because they can get away with it and no-one will fight them on it... And some family's are just so busy running around with their own life to be concerned with looking after elderly family members, which is very sad....

I feel the same way, the elderly are put into nursing homes to be cared for their sickness and to belong to a society like them, however they are being mistreated and it is wrong.. they were young once too, no reason to treat them like they are aliens..

I doubt there is absolutely everyone who has no longer felt that way in some unspecified time sooner or later. yet bored isn't valueless. 2 issues totally diverse. while you're bored, get stimulated. discover something to do, somebody exciting to chat to , learn something new. learn a means which you never had till now ... or only discover some poor overworked mom and grant to help cleansing her bathing room or walk the dogs.

nothing is getting done cause no one wants to stand up and do something about it, i once worked in a nursing home and i witnessed abuse on patients and i turned it in , and nothing was ever dne about it, if you have a loved one in a nursing and u want to investigate, place a hidden camera in the room and if you find something worng go straight to the police and report it

i'll tell you what you can do... inside EACh Nursing home and hospital, you will find a number to call the "ombudsman"... they are responsible for the eldrely... if we complain enough- things will change
