Unless you have a new computer, you may not even get the 3d stuff. True vista machine needs a minimum of 1 gig of ram (to really run right), a dual-core processor (or Intel 800 series chip or comparable) and a very hefty video card.

Without those things - you'll get a watered-down vista.

Remember when you first upgraded to Win '95 or '98?

Didn't you invest in a manual and go page by page just as you would if you bought a new appliance for your kitchen or house?

It is really impossible for anyone in this forum to try to give you a five paragraph tutorial on VISTA.

Of all the dozen or so manuals or "Dummies" books, I like MARIN GRAPHICS best. It trakes tyou by the hand, shows detailed pictures of your computer screen just as you see it.

Best of all if you areabout to complete a complicated procedure, Marin starts you with a numbered 'Step 1 and then arrows you to Step 2 etc. You just can't miss doing that operation.

Go to Chapters or any other big book store. Take a few "VISTA" books off the shelf and sit down in the store with them. Cjoose the one that makes SENSE to you.

I will be buying "VISTA SIMPLIFIED" by Marin graphics for about $25 and I will start on page 1 and do a page each evening. In a month I will be familiar with almost every needed operation to use VISTA.

welcome to the hell you put yourself in. Vista is not ready for the masses....the masses do not have Vista so they cannot help you....most software and other items are not supported by Vista.

realize you are on a island alone yet? every report has stated "do not upgrade or get Vista yet as there are too many bugs and issues with the software like every other version of windows that microsoft has released in the past"

guess you weren't around for all the hell XP caused when it first came out.
