Hi. A friend of mine is getting married soon, and I've been helping her look for rings. She does not want a diamond because of all the diamond wars and stuff in Africa. So, she wants an Aquamarine or other light blue stone. Does anyone know where I can find a Round cut, silver or white gold band, Aquamarine ring? I've looked around a lot, but with no luck. Thanks!

She can also get diamonds that don't have blood on them- Africa isn't the only place they're mined. Maybe an antique would be nice as well.
My cousin had a diamond and sapphire ring, though, and it was lovely. An aquamarine would be stunning. Have you thought about having one custom made? It's not as expensive as you'd think! Most jewelry stores should be able to do that kind of thing and order the right stone for you.

if you can buy an aquamarine stone somewhere, you can get it set yourself at a ring store on whatever band you like. I'm not sure how to go about doing that, but just don't limit yourself to looking for a pre-made engagement ring with aquamarine.

march is coming up so i am sure more will be available. i have a diamond ring with 2 aquamarines set beside it. my husband went into the jewelry store and he told them he wanted a ring made with that setup. the jeweler had no problem getting good stones.

side note - aquamarine stones get dirty easily

Not all diamonds come from Africa! Aquamarine is a fairly inexpensive and common stone any jewelry store {and even walmart} will have them. My engagement ring is a princess cut center stone diamond with blue sapphire baguettes. And its perty..lol

I also dislike diamonds because of the slave trade surrounding the mining. Try Ebay for inspiration, then perhaps take a design that she likes and have the ring made?

Call a jeweler. Also, you can have them custom made if you have time.
