I had a house fire last year and the insurance paid for the house to get fix. Can I use the repairs to the house on my taxes?

No, if your loss was insured there is no deduction.

There is a place on your taxes that you can claim a loss such as this, presumes a) you were not at fault for the loss and b) the amount claimed was not covered by insurance. You need form 4684

If you had a lose there are provisions for you to use.

But there are limits & it would be best to get the good kind of advice.
