ok this one girl starts a rumour that i'm going out with her when i wasn't going(and still am not) out with anyone so i go to talk to her about it and i ask her if why she said that i was going out with her and she just shrugged and walked away, then she said that it was all suppose to be a joke and that she didn't like me. so what do i do?? start to flirt and how do i go about that or keep being the gentleman that i am

She OBVIOUSLY likes you. If you like her, then I see no problem. You're a guy anyway. Guys are constantly taking risks on asking girls out. Don't be a puss if you like her, too.
Just be like,
"Why make a rumor when we can make it real."
Just don't say it cheesy like that, unless you like cheese.

Honey, don't be with someone who plays these childish games. Once you start accepting the games, you have to realize you may be the butt of her jokes. I wouldn't bother with her, if she doesn't come out and ask you out, move on, she's a player. She could be saying that as a joke. You want to have the last laugh in this situation, not her, ignore her and see what happens.

Um, she does not sound like someone you would want to be with, if you are a gentleman like you say. Rumors are not a positive thing. Imagine what she is able to do! Imagine if you break-up, the rumors she would start. Gossip = no good.
What if you liked another girl, and these rumors messed it up for you?

Some times rumors get out of hand ,so she mite have been joking but then again she might have changed her mind.I say if you want to start seeing her just start hanging out with her and see were it goes from there. You never know you guys might start going out.

she does likes you,and when you ask her about why she's been doing that and she walked away,she just to shy to tell you the truth,well why don't you flirt with her a bit and see wether she likes you or not,if you want to be a gentleman than go and ask her out.good luck.

if a girl starts a rumor about you and her going out that should be a red flag to stay away...only because girls like that tend to be obsessive and obnoxious....i mean on the other hand though, if she is not that type of girl, then obviously she really likes you..be flirty, smile at her, laugh at her jokes...get to know her...trust me just be you..if she doesn't like it, its her loss..

just be nice. ya i think she does like you, but she just doesn't want to say it because she is scared but yes just be a gentleman and don't push her just become friends for now and then she might be more comfortable to open up to you but yes talk to her its a fantastic idea.
