There have been no attacks by terrorists because they have chosen not to – and why should they, Bush increases their strength, popularity, and power every day he is in office.

How can we do anything to Iran when:

1). We have not even secured the road from the Baghdad Airport to the Green Zone in downtown Baghdad.

2). No one in the world believes a thing we say because of the lies of the Bush Administration, and its illegal, immoral, and unwarranted invasion of Iraq.

3). Iran has a real military.

4). Iran survived a decade long war with Saddam during which they absorbed more punishment that we can possibly bring down on them.

5). It will take them one day to place mines in the straits and the gulf – meaning no more oil for anyone.

And for what?

Then end result will be that no American (even at home) will ever be safe again, for at least several generations.

Brilliant – just another brilliant idea to destroy America. Will you guys never stop?

What wrong with posting this under politics?

What if the aim of Al Queda is to cause the US to tear itself apart? Or simply by making us change the way we live?

Let's see, we attacked Iraq, Al Queda got more followers, US standing in the world went down.

We occupied Iraq, Al Queda got more followers, US standing in the world went down.

We sent more troops into Iraq, Al Queda got more followers, US standing in the world went down.

We build a permanent base in Iraq ............... What do you think will happen?

One of the definitions of insanity is: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

3000 plus dead American soldiers

A 1/2 trillion (and growing) dollar national debt

Irrational continuation of American dependence on foreign oil which is totally unecessary considering our technology and industry

Shall I go on???

As long as big oil can continue to squeeze money out of the ground, the middle east will remain a threat. When alternative fuels dominate, the middle east will be castrated, and all the so called "enemies of freedom" will dry up like a fart in the breeze.

No need for oil = no money for middle east nations = no threat to the world.

Done!
