please make sure you are also getting help to deal with the issue that causes the depression as just upping the dose of tablets won't take the problem away.

So......... this isn't really answering your question. See if your school has counseling services first. It may or may not work, but it's better than jumping to pills. If you find a good counselor and your bouts of depression are something that therapy can help you overcome, you won't be looking at a life time of antidepressants. It makes a lot of sense to try that first! If you do choose antidepressants, you should still do therapy because the most effective treatment is both. As for telling your parents... consider whether you want to now or to wait a bit until you yourself are more comfortable with taking them. Whichever, timing is everything. Pick a good time. Try not to overstate. Your parents may be more hurt by learning that you've had periods of depression all along that flew under their radar. But, mostly be honest. I have bipolar, diagnosed as an adult. That one was really a mouthful to tell. It took time for them to accept and my mom had a lot of misplaced guilt for giving me the genes (her brother has it). All's fine now, and I am very glad I told.

Stronger?
Go with seroqueln 250 mg 1 1/2 tab 2 times a day. Works for me.
Talk to your doc, tell them you need stronger ones they will subscribe you some.
GOod luck
Try keeping motivated ... anti-Depression pills don't work on there own you have to help them work by keeping yourself from being depressed.

I'm so glad that you'll be getting help for your problem from your Mom. I'm glad she understands. What I don't understand, though, is how she can get them for you without you seeing a doctor. With depression, (and other mental illnesses) you need to have counseling along with the meds to control your depression. Somethin' for you to think about, anyway.

Anti-depressants can cause serious side effects- including thoughts of suicide. Either way youre gonna get out of your deperession- with or without meds. Is using meds really worth risking your life for?

its good your mom is gonna get you help.and i dont think any of us,worry about upsetting your mom if it got you help.it takes a
while for anti-depression meds to work.be patient.what works for
one doesnt always work for someone else.and seroquel is a
a-typical anti psychotic.not a good first choice for depression.
hope you feel better soon.
