The mileage is 70,000. Two owners, a car rental company for the first 20,000 and then a private party for the additional 50,000. It has been checked out and is for sale at a local Toyota Dealer used car lot. In general, they have a fairly good reputation. I would have it checked at the local Volvo dealer - BUT - would I be better to go with an Accord? Thanks in advance!

Money wise it is a good deal. I would NEVER EVER EVER purchase this car without spending the money on a complete and comprehensive extended warranty. If that car was beat in its first 20k, there could be some long term issues that don't pop up. And w/o a warranty repairs are costly on these vehicles.

i would personally have it checked out at a Volvo dealer before i signed any papers. in terms of bang-for-the-buck, you should go with the S60 because it is a Volvo, and they make some of the safest, if not the safest, vehicles on earth.

If your renting a car versus "owning" it. How are you going to treat that vehicle? Jump on the gas at every stop sign huh? Put it through its paces....why??? Because YOU DON'T OWN THE VEHICLE! People are far more prone TO TAKE CARE OF SOMETHING IF THEY BOUGHT IT. If it's not yours what the hell do you care?

Don't buy a rental, You have no idea how it's been treated....
