i've been with my guy for 8 months but i'm just getting really bored i don't think he's the right guy for me.
what should i tell him?
i know i should be honest but that's a hard thing for me to do i still want to be friends.i just want to let him down easily and not be too mean.

Ther is no easy way to tell someone that you do not want to be with them anymore.Just be direct and let the chips fall where they may.

1st off, please...don't try to be friends afterwards, that rarely if ever works. One or the other will want to get back together, or one or the other will get jelous if the other hooks up with someone new. Just move on.
If you want to lie, then lie, I don't know your situation enough to offer you a suggestion.
While I don't think complete honestly is always the best policy, perhaps a mixture of the two may be better. Make up something that's based on truth, but does not hurt his feelings. If you really are done with him, and don't care, then hey make yourself the bad guy...you know the truth...so who cares? The end result is your single again.
DON'T try to do some kind of slow, gradual break up. Like a band-aid, just rip it off and get it over with.

If there's a problem between you two, talk with him about it first. Then if you still think that both of you tried everything to make it work and it doesnt, then let him know that it would be better if you guys just stayed as friends.
