I think that we are an over medicated nation. Before we were born, people seemed to live longer. Some of my ancestors lived to be in there 100's, now my family is barely making it to the 80's. We have to take all these meds that people create, and in doing so, we have to take more meds to counter react the ones we have already taken.

When i got my 4 wisdom teeth taken out i was prescribed a month's worth of Vicodin... there was no need for me to have that many drugs. I was only like 16yrs old... it's too easy in this country to get a hold of dangerous drugs. I had a friend that would get high on over the counter drugs... it's sad that anyone has such easy access to these drugs. The doctor should have only given me like 10 pills instead of 30 pills... i ended up taking one and throwing out the rest.

I agree with the other person, people want a magic pill for everything and drug companies are partly to blame, with all the advertising on tv and magazines, about just ask your doctor. Also it seems that people are not happy with trying to deal with cold symptoms they have to have an antibiotic, not everything can be cured with an antibiotic. ONLY bacterial infections, virus are not cured with antibiotics, but people are not agreeing with that. Also vaccines, I don't think we are over vaccinated, I believe in vaccines, we have seen the outbreaks. Whooping cough if you have ever seen a little baby with whooping cough its awful whooping cough does kill people. Anyways thats all to say. Thanks

No, we are not an over medicated society. Our life expectancy has incerased constantly as a result of great medications, and in spite of the fast food joints.
People should not be forced to take any medications and/or vaccines. It should be left up to each individual or the parent of a minor.

I am on antenolol for high blood pressure. I am told that I will be taking it till I pass on.
I told my doctor, that I am depressed about many things as well. The medical solution, was more medications. When I refused more pills and the drain of my bank account to pay for them,I was met with irratated comments about treatments.. I think, that if more compassion was exersised, instead of quick fixes, we may be better off.
