i have long wavy hair too. this is an advise an international european hair dresser gave me......
before you get into the shower, comb your hair with a wide tooth comb. also, always have three different shampoos available in the shower with you as you need to always rotate your shampoos.......get three different shampoos that you like the best.... when you wash your hair, choose one and the next time, choose another of the three. shampoos have to be rotated because your hair becomes used to a particular shampoo that it changes the texture of your hair.

you will notice that when you use a new shampoo, it makes your hair feel really good but as you use it, it does not do what it originally did.

also, when you are in the shower and have just rinsed your hair, get a wide tooth comb and comb your hair while the water is running on it so the waves are combed out without having to pull your hair and disrupting your hair strands.

this way, when you come out of the shower, your hair is almost totally comb and all you need to do is dry it, comb it (do not use a brush) and leave it dry on its own.

you can also cringe it with your fingers and let it dry naturally. your hair will shine and not be dried up as when you use a hair dryer.

if you really want to use a hair dryer, use the cold setting. towel dry your hair carefully so as not to tangle it since you already combed it in the shower. while still wet, run a comb on it and then use the hair dryer while cringing it with your fingers. don't overdry your hair with the hair dryer. when it is almost dry, bend your head and let your hair hung downward and then shake your head to et loose your hair naturally.

when you lift your head upright, just use your fingers to straighten it out a little and let the rest of your hair just flow down with its waves...this method will prevent frizzy and uncontrollable hair.

now, if you want to straighten it, you can do that too after you have come out of the shower and your hair is partially comb.

dry it with a towel and comb it with a comb. then run your fingers through your hair while you are drying it pulling slightly so your hair strands straighten out. bend your head to one side and do that to the back hair that is falling on the side of your head and run your fingers while you dry it. then bend to the other side and do the same.....this will take care of your hair on the sides and back.

on the top of your head, lift the hair with your fingers and dry your hair starting with the roots...............

Okay first off I do not recomend pantene pro v it has some of the same products as floor wax's. I would recomend that you use curls rock by catwalk. The prices range from 13-20$ You can find this at most salons. It is primarly for curly hair. If that seems too expensive there is another kind called super skinny by paul mitchell this is a profetional product but a little cheeper you are looking more along the lines of 8-10$. Good luck!!!!!!

Curly hair by its very nature is delicate. When it becomes damaged or dry, the curls frizz out. Here are some tricks to keep frizziness at bay.
Instructions
STEP 1: Learn to like your curls. Straightening efforts and hair relaxants damage hair. STEP 2: Keep shampooing to a minimum since shampoo tends to dry out hair. If you do wash your hair daily, dilute shampoo with an equal amount of water.
STEP 3: Use a daily conditioner to keep hair moisturized. Finger-brush your hair while the conditioner is in it. Then rinse.
STEP 4: Apply a leave-in conditioner or anti-frizz serum to your damp hair.
STEP 5: Deep-condition your hair once a week.
STEP 6: To touch up your hair in the afternoon, moisten your fingers with water and a small amount of conditioner. Run your fingers through your hair and smooth out the frizz.

Find a hairstylist who specializes in curly hair to get suitable style and product recommendations.

Humidity can make straight hair frizzy. Use leave-in conditioner or anti-frizz serum.

Frizzy Hair - Tips:

1) Before taking a shower, comb your hair using a wide toothed comb while it is still dry. Doing so will prevent tangles and knots afterward. Hair is at it's weakest when wet, and combing it after the shower further damages it. After your shower, finger comb your hair, gently separating it.

2) You should only wash your hair as often as you need to keep it clean. I suggest, about 1-2 washes a week, unless you sweat and work out a lot, then anywhere from 2-4 washes a week. Remember, when washing your hair, only wash your scalp. Hair doesn't get too dirty, and tousling it around, building up a lather, only serves to damage and tear at the cuticle, possibly making your hair much more frizzy.

3) Leave your conditioner on for a good 5-10 minutes. Wash it lightly, leaving a minimal amount of it left it. If you want, you can blast your hair with cold water to help close up the cuticle, for maximum shine.

4) Run some silicone (anti-frizz serum/creme) in your hair. Too much will make your hair appear greasy, rather than shiny. Apply a bit of mousse, or some gel and distribute it evenly. Afterward, leave your hair alone. Don't touch it, and just let it air dry. Remember, touching hair with anything (finger, cotton, brushes, etc.) will only serve to roughen up the cuticle, damaging it. Luckily, hair products today help mask these problems. NOTE - No hair products will reverse/fix a hair problem such as split ends permanently.

5) To try to prevent frizzy hair from getting frizzier while you sleep, sleep on a sating pillow case. Don't sleep w/ a satin cap on, however, because it cuts off the circulation of air to your hair follicles, possibly stunting hair growth. Cotton pillow cases will cause friction between the hair and the fabric, especially if you move around a lot in your sleep.

6) And a last, important thing to remember. Hair Care products don't have to tell you the truth in their claims. The only thing that has to be true is the product label, which is listed in descending order. Look at that.

You'll notice that no matter what the price of the product is, the other hair-care products, will have almost identical ingredient listings. (Ex. Suave Shampoos, compared to Herbal Essence Shampoos; Patene Pro V Conditioners, compared to Tresseme Conditioners)

For example, in shampoos/conditioners, the first ingredient will almost always be water, making up 75-90% of the product. The next 3-5 ingredients will be about 10-25% of the product. The rest compose less than 1% of the product. These can be listed in any order.

Have you tried any of the John Freida products? I use Curl Locking shampoo and conditioner and then put a leave in conditioner (beware if you have oily hair, might make it look greasy) such as Pantene Pro-V for Curls in and use John Freida Curl Defining Mousse. I've also used Sunsilk for Frizzy hair and that's been pretty effective if I use their hair cream afterward. Pantene for curly/wavy hair seems to work pretty good too. The secret is really the products you put in after washing your hair.

I have frizzy and curly hair...there is nothing to do really :(
When I started using Frize Ease by John Freida, my frizz has defrizzified (lol) and my curls look natural. Buy the shampoo and condintioner. If you want, you can buy a straightener for some days.

Joico K-Pak shampoo & conditioner are the best.

Another solution would be to use a drop of jojoba oil as a conditioner. Just rub it between your palms and run your hands through your hair back to front. Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic and washes out easily.

I use Hairapy Frizz and curl ease ( for frizzy hair) It works really well. I love straightening my hair, but sometimes it makes it frizzier. For brown hair use, Suave for Brunettes, it works really well on my sister, and its really cheap!

Good Luck!!
