If you are talking about a splinter, usually, the site of the splinter will develope an abcess and in a few days it will pop and you will easily slide the sliver out at that time. But it would be faster to get medical attention for it now .

This is more questions! I still have about 35 spines under the skin of the palm of my hand where the doctor in E.R broke them because she was trying to use pointed tweezers instead of flat edge and pulling them. I had removed 50 to 70 but needed brighter light as I could not see other than to hold toward the light and at age 85, I could not hold the magnifying glass, the light and use the tweezers. I was sent home from ER with instructions to soak 4 x daily in Epsom Salts solution and let them fester and they would eventually work their way out. Does anyone have a better idea?" I like the black salve idea, was it Denver Mud?
