I've heard good things about New Zealand. It has one of the lowest crime rates in the world, the living standards and climate are reasonable, you won't need to learn a new language if your native language is English, and it has some beautiful scenery (the Lord of The Rings movies were filmed there, for example). Worth a look.

Edit: Nostradamus02012 beat me to it as I was typing, so it's not just me :-)

i would make alot of money in the US .. then move to a poorer country like the philippines to live as retired ... it wouldnt take that much money ... the selling price of a decent house in the states and you could live like a king in a place like philippines ... and the people are much less conceded and pompous .. the scenery in nice ... the food is great ... its best to have friends wherever u decide to go though ... thats how i would like to do it ...i'm sick of overrated western "freedom" which amounts to nothing more than trying to live up to a media prophesied image of excessive consumption and being a slave to the financial elite in a land where moral decline and lack of respect for everyone and every thing is the norm.

Imagine a thousand wire-cages filled to 3 levels with rats. Nowhere to go. That's people on earth.

From there? Good luck! And have fun...

People are rude, racist, selfish, and inconsiderate everywhere. Try going somewhere where people are similar in race, religion, culture, political affiliation...

You will think its a nicer place if you can't see its ugly side.
