What are the actual sins? What did he actually die for? Did he die? Wasn't he resurrected?

No point in rationalizing a diety. It goes beyond our capacity to understand or communicate.

Jesus died as an atonement for our sins.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, for whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. ~ John 3:16.
Jesus Christ is the son of God and he lived a sinless life. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for both you and I. Jesus didn't just die on the cross for the people that were alive at the time. He also died to give future generations an opportunity for salvation. Christ knew that he would die for our sins long before he was hung on the cross.
Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on; And they shall scourge him and put him to death;and the third day he shall rise again. And they understood none of these things; and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken. ~ Luke 18:31-34

God knew before He created Adam and Eve that Jesus was going to have to be sacrificed for all the sins of the world. You may only been born 20 yrs, ago but God knew you long before you were conceived. He knew me long before I was conceived as well. He knew that I would sin and fall short of the glory of God- so once and for all Jesus was sacrificed on the Cross and died the death that we all deserve to die, so that we could have a relationship with us. He loves the whole world. Yes He was resurrected so that He has the victory, and we can have the victory over sin. He was and is the perfect lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world, Believe and His name and confess with your mouth that He is Lord and you will be saved.

God is the creator of the Universe. therefore he knew us before we were even here. Long ago the world was cursed with sin. So Jesus the son of God came down the this earth to die for our sins (future generations)3 days later he rose from the dead by God. And he will return again like He said. He did this so that we wont have to go to Hell. We have a choice to accept Jesus in our hearts as our Lord and Savior or not. He is as real as the air we breath today.

Don't be confused. You were born into a world that has fallen from a relationship with God through the sin of Adam and Eve. Jesus died on the cross and willing took the sins of the world onto Himself. Adam caused the fall of man. Christ provided a way to have a relationship with the Father. Jesus did raise from the dead as foretold in scripture and is now seated in Heaven as our High Priest. All you have to do is trust Him to save your soul. Just pray for Him to show you His truth. God Bless.

The whole story of a god who sends his only son to a planet to die for the inhabitants of that planet's sins is the most immoral story I've ever heard.
What makes this gesture hollow and empty is the part where they (the god and his son) KNEW that he (the son) was going to come back to life before he even died. What kind of sacrifice is that? "Hey son, go die and return so you can inspire the production of the movie 'Groudhog Day'."
What people will fall for is quite amazing.

The Bible says in Hebrews 9:14 that He offered Himself through His Eternal Spirit to God. I believe the answer is because Jesus was eternal - existing in a realm that transcends all time, past present and future, that He was able to enter into human history and offer Himself once for all time to make atonement for the sins of all who would ever believe in Him.

The Bible explains: “Christ died for our sins.” “He died for us, that . . . we should live.” (1 Corinthians 15:3; 1 Thessalonians 5:10) Yes, Jesus was sent to earth to save us. He himself said: “The Son of man came . . . to give his soul [or, life] a ransom in exchange for many.” (Matthew 20:28) But what does it mean that Jesus gave his life as “a ransom”? What is a ransom?

The word “ransom” is often used when there is a kidnapping. After a kidnapper captures a person, he may say he will return the victim if a certain amount of money is paid as a ransom. So a ransom is something that brings about the deliverance of a person held captive. It is something that is paid so that the person does not lose his life. Jesus’ perfect human life was given to obtain mankind’s release from bondage to sin and death. (1 Peter 1:18, 19; Ephesians 1:7) Why was such a release needed?

It was needed because Adam, our forefather, rebelled against God. (Genesis 2:17; 3:11, 12) His lawless act thus made him a sinner, since the Bible explains that “sin is lawlessness.” (1 John 3:4; 5:17) As a result, he was not worthy of receiving God’s gift of everlasting life. (Romans 6:23) So Adam lost for himself perfect human life on a paradise earth. He also lost this wonderful prospect for all the children he would produce. ‘But why,’ you may ask, ‘did all his children have to die, since it was Adam who sinned?’

This is because Adam, when he became a sinner, passed sin and death on to his children, including all humans now living. (Job 14:4; Romans 5:12) So humans have been dying because of the sin that they inherited from Adam. How was it possible, then, for the death of Jesus to free all people from bondage to sin and death?

A legal principle in God’s law for the nation of Israel is involved. It states that ‘life should be given for life.’ (Exodus 21:23) By his disobedience the perfect man Adam lost perfect life on a paradise earth for himself and all his children. Jesus Christ gave his own perfect life to buy back what Adam lost. As the Bible explains, Jesus “gave himself a corresponding ransom for all.”—1 Timothy 2:5, 6.

Just think what this means for us! It means that Jesus poured out his lifeblood in death so that we could have the opportunity to live forever under the rule of God’s kingdom. Will you show your gratitude by using your life to serve God and his heavenly Son, Jesus Christ?—2 Corinthians 5:14, 15.

Well for that question there is an answer in the bible..John 3:16
Jesus died for everyone, whoever beleives in him will have everlasting life..he went on the cross and died for you, he went through different kinds of temptations that we go through these days.. So that we would look up to him and get the strength to hold on to him...He said, " To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcome and sat down with my Father in his throne." I would suggest you look at the movie Passion of Christ.. if you want more details..
Be blessed hopefully that helped..
