Say for example I need 3 tickets for a family vacation in May. We are going into Feb. now. Will the tickets be cheaper in March and even cheaper in April, since the airlines want to fill the seats? Or will they get more expensive in March, and even more expensive in April? The same tickets I bought 2 years ago were about $90 cheaper per ticket. Cost of gas, it can't be. Gas is cheaper now than it was 2 years ago. Corporate greed? Probably. Any good advice would be appreciated, thanks.

It is unpredictable how airline fares will change over time.

Fares are dependent on several factors and are based on availability. A certain percentage of seats are allocated for the lowest priced seats. Once those sell out, then the fare goes up to the next tiered price. Sometimes waiting a day or two might open up a cheaper fare, as reservations that are on hold that are not purchased release the discounted seats. Additionally, an airline may decide to have a fare sale resulting in lower fares. Discount fares also generally have advanced purchase and stay requirements (one or two weeks in advance / Saturday night stay required for example).

Once a ticket is purchased, most airlines will refund the difference (even on a nonrefundable ticket) as a travel voucher if the price of the ticket goes down. To be eligible for the refund, the ticketing requirements must be met.

I would suggest continuing to check the fares for your trip. If you see a reasonable fare, check with the airline to see how they would handle a future decrease in fare. If they would refund the difference, purchase the ticket.

It is almost unpredictable! Often you get the best advice from the travel agency: they would know, because they monitor the trends. the fluctuations are different with different airlines, too! Some airlines declare their fare for the whole year, in end Jan or Feb. Some have fares varying every two months or so.

to respond to your individual question, persist with the rage in oil and foreign places funds fees. Oil could flow over $ninety a barrel this week and does not teach any signs and indications of happening. The greenback keeps to drop, too, which ability that is going to purchase much less inspite of the denomination. via the tip of March, those tickets will cost lots greater. i might purchase the tickets now.
