You have three options:
+ Marry a Catholic
+ Convert to Catholicism
+ Or both

+ Mixed Marriages +

The Catholic Church allows marriage between Catholics and non-Catholics.

Because the Church recognizes the tremendous challenge that the interfaith couple will face, they may have to get permission from the bishop.

+ Joining the Catholic Church +

If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group.

You can go and ask any questions you want.

This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time.

There is no obligation to become a Catholic.

+ With love in Christ.

It depends on the church you want to get married in. Most of the time you just have to take some pre-marriage counseling with the priest before they will consider having the wedding at their church.

Depends on the church. I wanted to get married in a Catholic church, but im not catholic. My fiance is..but they told us I would have to go through classes in order to get married there. Check on the church and talk to them.

Well, it depends upon if your man is Catholic. If so, the two of you need to go talk to his parish priest. Otherwise, if neither of you are, you would need to study and convert. Or if you are just picking a pretty church, that is just sad.

congrats first of all. Yes you have to take classes, BUT they are so worth it. It helps TRUST me! It's just about communication and to learn ways to show your spouse you are upset when he walks in the door without tearing his head off. The priest is not going to try and convert you. It will be ok.
