LOL really that is not so scary. (But I dont want my son to see it ) That is a unusual and excellent thinking play.
I'm not sure why some are scared of the books. Lack of trust in their young for deciding what is real and what is fantasy.
I'm currently reading both the bible and harry potter books with my 7 year old son. He is asking questions about creation, science, good and evil and discovering God and purpose, as well as enjoying a book he knows is fantasy.

Wow, I will definately stay away from Equus.
I actually like Harry Potter, though I haven't let my young kids see all the movies since they are very dark and scary. "Christian" is a very big segment of the population, and many of us have different tastes. I personally love science fiction, and read it all the time.
