Mono
What are the symptoms of mono?
Does it just come on one day, and you are really sick? Or do you slowly start feeling really tired, week, sore throat gets worse??
If so, how long does it take to fully get it?

Infectious mononucleosis (caused by the Herpes virus type Epstein-Barr) is transmitted person-to-person by direct contact, usually through, you guessed it, kissing someone infected. The disease is also commonly transmitted by sharing eating utensils that have not been properly sanitized (lowering the microbial count to a safe public level). In developing parts of the world, infection with Epstein-Barr (EB) happens usually in childhood, with over 90% of the children over the age of four having antibodies to it. It is interesting to note that about 20% of adults in the US carry the EB virus in their oral secretions. I do not know your age, (nor do I ask), but incidence of the disease peak at the ages of 15 to 25. About 15% of college age students can expect to contract infectious mononucleosis. The disease usually wears itself out (is self-limiting) and runs its due course in a few weeks. Immunity is permanent. When patients do expire it is normally caused, by all things, a ruptured spleen from intensely exercising. The actual nomenclature mononucleosis refers to the lobed nuclei of the lymphocytes in the blood during the initially infection, around the time IgM antibody titer rises. From a medical standpoint treatment is limited to what makes you feel better, minusing kissing other people (preferably for 4-6 weeks, during which you would be in a period of convalescence). Ask to have a fluorescent-antibody test done to see if you have specific antibodies to the EB virus. This will confirm the diagnosis, although all of the current medical literature suggests 4-7 weeks for symptoms to appear. I know this was a lot of info, so thanks for letting me share.

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about five yrs ago, when I was still attending college and had a foolish one-night stand. I know a lot of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone who has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/QWC9a everything changed.

Not only was I able to clear away all remnants of the herpes virus from my system in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program provided the chance to be happy and experience real love again. Now I hope that I can help others by sharing this story.

Mono generally doesn't hit with a big bang. You're right, you become infected, the infection gets to a certain level in your body then you start to feel yucky, like you have the flu. It can last for some time though, weeks even months and it is infectious. Mono used to be called a kissing disease because it requires that kind of close contact to be transmitted.

And you do experience some of the symptoms that you describe.
