By 2025, the affects will most likely be unreversible. We're not really going to die, I was kidding, but as the ocean levels rise, agriculture and land is going to be destroyed, and as a result, the economy will collapse and the poor will die from starvation.

The destruction of the rainforest cotributes to 1/5 of global warming.

Wow, you people are sad. People ONLY responded to this post because it said, "We are going to die." I posted other things about helping the enviroment, and barely anyone responded.

Our society is pathetic.

Excuse for trying to help the enviroment. I suck at life, don't I?

2007-01-31 17:03:20 · update #2

Yes, the earth changes climates, but this time it's different! What about the thinning of the ozone layers? What about the hole? That's totally natural and has nothing to do with pollution or anything, right? How can you be so ignorant?

Either way, proctecting the rainforest is important, which is the MAIN point I was trying to make. Geez. Did you know that 2,800 plants found in the rainforest actively fight against cancer?

I guess you're all sucked in by Bush saying global warming isn't real.

From Neal Boortz (02-02-07):

WHY AM I SKEPTICAL ABOUT MAN-MADE GLOBAL WARMING?

A 21-page report from something called the "Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change" has been released today...in Paris, no less...and as expected, it's predictions are dire. According to the report: "Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice, and rising global mean sea level." Yeah right...we've heard all this before.

But the biggest bombshell here is this one: no matter what we do, global warming will not be reversed. It will go on for centuries, according to this report. The sea levels will continue to rise as polar ice caps melt. So I guess if Al Gore wins his Nobel Peace Prize, we'll still experience global warming. So much for riding to work everyday in your hybrid car...it's not doing a thing. The situation is futile, according to this report.

But really, it makes sense that the global warming crowd would come to this conclusion. After all, global warming is a religion. The anti-capitalist enviro-nazis don't ever want the problem to be solved. After all, if global warming were to be solved tomorrow, what would they blame the United States for? They'd have to find some other reason.

Sorry .. I'm still a skeptic. In no particular order here are just a few of the reasons why I'm not buying this man-made global warming scare:

The United Nations is anti-American and anti-Capitalist. In short .. I don't trust them. Not a bit. The UN would eagerly engage in any enterprise that would weaken capitalist economies around the world.

Because after the fall of the Soviet Union and worldwide Communism many in the anti-capitalist movement moved to the environmental movement to continue pursuing their anti-free enterprise goals. Many of the loudest proponents of man-made global warming today are confirmed anti-capitalists.

Because the sun is warmer .. and all of these scientists don't seem to be willing to credit a warmer sun with any of the blame for global warming.

The polar ice caps on Mars are melting. How did our CO2 emissions get all the way to Mars?

It was warmer in the 1930s across the globe than it is right now.

It wasn't all that long ago that these very same scientists were warning us about "global cooling" and another approaching ice age?

How much has the earth warmed up in the last 100 years? One degree. Now that's frightening.

Because that famous "hockey stick" graph that purports to show a sudden warming of the earth in the last few decades is a fraud. It ignored previous warming periods ... left them off the graph altogether.

The infamous Kyoto accords exempt some of the world's biggest CO2 polluters, including China and India.

The Kyoto accords can easily be seen as nothing less than an attempt to hamstring the world's dominant capitalist economies.

Because many of these scientists who are sounding the global warming scare depend on grant money for their livelihood, and they know the grant money dries up when they stop preaching the global warming sermon.

Because global warming "activists" and scientists seek to punish those who have different viewpoints. If you are sure of your science you have no need to shout down or seek to punish those who disagree.

What happened to the Medieval Warm Period? In 1996 the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued a chart showing climatic change over a period of 1000 years. This graph showed a Medieval warming period in which global temperatures were higher than they are today. In 2001 the IPCC issued another 1000 year graph in which the Medieval warming period was missing. Why?

Why has one scientist promoting the cause of man-made global warming been quoted as saying "we have to get rid of the medieval warming period?"

Why is the ice cap on the Antarctic getting thicker if the earth is getting warmer?

In the United State, the one country with the most accurate temperature measuring and reporting records, temperatures have risen by 0.3 degrees centigrade over the past 100 years. The UN estimate is twice that.

There are about 160,000 glaciers around the world. Most have never been visited or measured by man. The great majority of these glaciers are growing, not melting.

Side-looking radar interferometry shows that the ise mass in the West Antarctic is growing at a rate of over 26 gigatons a year. This reverses a melting trend that had persisted for the previous 6,000 years.

Rising sea levels? The sea levels have been rising since the last ice age ended. That was 12,000 years ago. Estimates are that in that time the sea level has risen by over 300 feet. The rise in our sea levels has been going on long before man started creating anything but natural CO2 emissions.

Like Antarctica, the interior of Greenland is gaining ice mass.

Over the past 3,000 years there have been five different extended periods when the earth was measurably warmer than it is today.

During the last 20 years -- a period of the highest carbon dioxide levels -- global temperatures have actually decreased. That's right ... decreased.

Why did a reporter from National Public Radio refuse to interview David Deming, an associate professor at the University of Oklahoma studying global warming, after his testimony to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee unless Deming would state that global warming was being caused by man?

Why are global warming proponents insisting that the matter is settled and that no further scientific research is needed? Why are they afraid of additional information?

On July 24, 1974 Time Magazine published an article entitled "Another Ice Age?" Here's the first paragraph:
"As they review the bizarre and unpredictable weather pattern of the past several years, a growing number of scientists are beginning to suspect that many seemingly contradictory meteorological fluctuations are actually part of a global climatic upheaval. However widely the weather varies from place to place and time to time, when meteorologists take an average of temperatures around the globe they find that the atmosphere has been growing gradually cooler for the past three decades. The trend shows no indication of reversing. Climatological Cassandras are becoming increasingly apprehensive, for the weather aberrations they are studying may be the harbinger of another ice age."

Hey ... I could go on. There's much more where that came from. But I need to get ready to go on the air. Just know that many of the strongest proponents of this "man-made" global warming stuff are dedicated opponents to capitalism and don't feel all that warm and fuzzy about the United States.

I am so tired of this seemingly faulty hypothesis of global warming, I think that it is junk science. Where are you getting your information? by 2025 ireversible damage? The earth is fully self sustaining. If every nuclear warhead on the planet was detonated simultaniously it would not be enough to destroy the planet. Man has not been measuring or recording earths temperature long enough to acertain if this is fact or fiction. Back in the 60's the same tree hugging idiots were predicting global cooling like chicken little saying the sky was falling. That never panned out. They say the temperature on Mars is up to, so I think the heat of the sun is the culprit, so what are we going to do about the sun putting off too much heat? The say the refrigerant R-12 was contributing to a hole in the ozone layer and all that crap, but how is a gas that is heavier than air going to get up above 40,000 feet and do such a thing. When Mt. St. Helens errupted (and volcanoes emit hydrocabons everyday) they say it put more in the atmosphere than all of the engines that have been built or ran since we started burning gas, so why would anybody think man can make a difference when good common sense tells you it is impossible. I think the theory of global warming needs to be left up to the nut cases like Al Gore to solve. The Democrats are just using this hype to make new rules and regulations to excert thier power against the people for political reasons. I think you need to get a grip on reality. If there is such thing as global warming it will take another 1000 years of measurements and scientific data to prove. Use your head, you can't believe that everything you read is true. Check it out for yourself before buying into this bull.

We're all going to die no matter what. I say we try to figure how we can all live forever first, then work on the global warming. Besides, I don't care what the planet will be like in 100 or 200 years from now. I'll be dead.. that is unless we figure out some kind of way medically to make us live forever.

Don't let the fact influence your opinion. Just because that 1936 was a warmer year than 2006, or that the earth has had an Ice age roughly every 15,000 years. And that each ice age is followed by a period of "global warming", otherwise it would be guess what, still an ice age. What ever you do don't read about Vikings farming in Greenland. Because that would mean that it was warmer 1000 years ago than it is now.

That's what you should really worry about. Another ice age. Most of the bread basket of the world would be covered under a solid sheet of ice. The amount of moisture tied up in ice means that the rest of the world would be arid.

By the way we're all going to die anyway. Just maybe not right now.

Some of these answers are too much!! I know people just want to get points for answering & raise their LEVEL, but in all seriousness, it's nothing to kid about! The more serious answers I do agree with some, then again if you are actually & truly looking for an honest answer you should go to the people who really know. Our scientist for one! As for politics, well our former vice president Al Gore who ran for the presidency & got screwed on the votes, well he travels the world an tells the (WE) people about "AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH" which is all about GLOBAL WARMING & if you want to see it, it's out one DVD in just about any store. I suggest that every living person should buy it! You want an idea about just what is really going on, well here we have it on DVD! And it doesn't matter if your Republican, Democrat, Liberal or Conservative, Rich or Poor...your mind will be changed in a nanosecond!! I want to add that it is happening right now, but we can not see the difference unless we act on seeing it!! We are already losing polar bears & that you should have seen on your local news! There are alot more things, but I believe I've said enough. GOD BLESS US ALL! (& YES, HE DOES CONTROL EVERYTHING!)

Actually if we don't do anything about global warming we will die. The oceans rising will also effect weather patterns causing huge floods and serious droughts. Also, when the ozone gets too thin or has too big of a hole in it, we will be exposed to extreme radio activity that occurs in space everyday. Right now we are protected by the ozone, but were destroying it as we speak. And even now you cannot reverse global warming. The only thing we can do is postpone it, and that will probably never happen because of the worlds growing economy. When we make more factories, we contribute more to global warming. We are also destroying agriculture now by using so many machines. Our planet can only give so much, and we keep taking more and more, pretty soon there will be nothing left.

MMM 2025 nice projected number, According to Al Gore and his ilk it already is irreversible, the only thing to do now is jack gas up to 10 bucks a gallon and live in huts. Oh wait that requires cutting down trees,, cant do that. Ok I guess a cave then.. wait that would displace bats and bears and other wildlife that were in them first. Ok then we all live in holes. wait cant do that either cause it could disturb the natural habitat of small microbes that are on the endangered species list. What;s a displaced human to do? I guess there's nothing left but to die. Oh sorry my decomposing body would create more CO2 and methane gases and that would further warm the earth. Crap I can't do anything anymore/ this survival stuff sucks. Yall have a nice day,

Its given that the ice caps will and have begun to melt and results in the rising of sea levels. And it is true that deforestation can contribute to global warming since more CO2 remains in the atmosphere therefore being a very effective greenhouse gas.

However, starvation..I'm not so sure. Although global warming could render some areas ineffective for the cultivation of crops, the colder areas will be able to start producing crops. Like the colder areas in the North. Moreover the present areas that are growing crops could easily switch to other plants suitable for the climate. So as to whether starvation will worsen it is still anyone's guess.

There has been a minimul change in the temperature from 100 yrs ago to now. The earth goes through its warming and cooling cycles, it is in a warming cycle now. Mother nature contributes more pollutants than man does. I'm not saying we shouldn't control pullution, of course we should, not because of global warming, but just out of common sense.

Do what you want to do to help Earthlings stop ManBearPig. I'm involved in the campaign to stop the Martian ice cap from melting. If Martin the Martian gets very angry at us and blows up the Earth, all the penguin armies won't be enough to save us.

Good luck. I got burned during the last Coming Ice Age, and drowned when the Ocean died in the 1980's, and the massive famines that were predicted by all the same "experts." So now I just focus my political efforts a bit more carefully.
