You will gain muscle tone. (You will probably put on a few pounds since muscle weighs more than fat does, don't freak out). Don't worry about looking grotesque, unless you are benching a hundred pounds you won't turn into a body builder.

If you keep lifting weights with your fast metabolism then you will look fantastic and I will hate you (I'm kidding, I always like to see girls working with weights - more power to you)

Hope this helps

You will become toned and maybe gain like 1 or 2 pounds because of muscle weight (muscle weighs 2x as much as fat). I have a naturally fast metabolism too. Everyone makes fun of me because they think I'm anorexic. I decided to start lifting weights and exercising to be healthier. I used to eat a lot of junkfood. I just work out with 5 lbs 3 days a week. I used to run, but that's too much for me.

Well, it all depends on how you lift weights. If you start off doing sets of 3 and doing a certain amount (for example 15 per set) you can start yourself off toning your body. Which means your muscles will start to develope and grow. If you want to gain weight go to a GNC or any Health Store and buy a weight gain drink. If you want to develope your muscles they have pills called Amino Acids which is muscle growth will not harm you as long as you take them properly and follow the directions. You have to take them before you workout in order for them to work right.
You also, have to stick with the lifting weights to keep your muscles in training. There are foods that will also help you gain weigh such as potatoes, rice, starched foods, noodles.

Just make sure you eat bannanas, they give you energy to burn, that way you don't feel week, I have the same problem of being skinny, but I don't lift weights I run and do leg lifts my legs got a bit buff and i also Ice skate just make sure you don't excercise on a full stomac and before you excercise make a stop at the restroom to aviod side pain.

Either you will gain a few pounds of muscle weight or you will cause a calorie deficiet in your body that will cause you to start breaking down proteins (like muscle mass). To keep your metabolism high and healthy, you may want to try adding a few hundred calories of lean protein or vegetables to your diet. Just make sure you don't over-work your body, so as not to drop your metabolism.

i'm in the same boat - if your lookin to bulk up you need lots of good quality whey protein, eat smaller meals but 6-8times daily, lots of fresh meat, some fish (preferably white for both) - brown rice etc etc.

do little aerobic excersise, and when your lifting the weights you need to be lifting heavier every session, or atleast every other session. heavy weight with low rep will help to gain bulk.

Have plenty of sleep, you might not know it, but your muscle regenerates during sleep and too little buggers everything up.

Stay away from beer, coffee, tea and dope as they all are eastrogen causing which wont help either

take in lots of protein and increase the weight you lift as you get stronger. since you're body is burning fat you will build muscle mass with the the lifting and protein and probably look quite toned.

if you're lifting weights and trying to add a little mass in your body, you should do less repetitions but lift weights slowly. Because lifting weight s in fast motion is the program used for those who are trying to loose weight.

3 lb wont get you no where, you need atleast 10 pounds to start with and you will need calorie + protein shakes and ALOT of protein/carbs, but portein alone wont help at all, you will need a hell lot of calories.

Nevermind didnt know you were a chick, its up to you depending on if you wish to go heavy or just for a tiny bit of tone.
