He probably just wants to rule out kidney or bladder stones or any cysts or tumors. Sometimes blood in urine is idiopathic (they don't know why it is there), sometimes some sort of physical stress to the kidneys could do it (like maybe repetitive chopping wood, etc)...they can test for cancer cells in the urine..I had it done and they found nothing, so no need to worry before you have to (I had been chopping wood).

Blood in your urine could indicate problems with your kidneys. Sometimes, it's just a bad urinary tract infection. I wouldn't worry, but follow-up on your tests. Ask how long results take to get back to your family doctor and then make an appointment to discuss the details.

After the cat scan they should be able to tell you what is going on.
Your kidneys are misfunctioning and you need to take it easy. It might be kidney stones in the end which should be the least of your worries.
Fot the time being take it easy...don't stress yourself out and avoid alcohol.
Good Luck!

I don't think you need to be concerned as in worried. There may be something more than infection going on and your doctor wants to find out what it is. Whatever it is, infection, calculus, whatever, it's most likely very treatable.
