Ok first of all, You will ONLY gain weight if you consume more calories than you burn. So lets say you burned 2000 calories but only eat 1500 calories, but you ate your big meal before bed, then you're fine because you didn't take in more than you burned. It only happens if you were not active through out the day and you ate too late to burn any of it off.
Doesn't matter what time of day you eat as long as you're not eating more cals than burning. I mean it's not recommended to eat before bed because you want to eat when metabolism is high so you will burn it off, but don't fret you wont gain weight.
Hope i helped!

Not necessarily, but there is a chance. The probability of gaining weight not only depends on wut u eat and how much u eat but also WHEN U EAT.As everyone knows that at night, our metabolism slows down which causes poor food digestion and thus, fat is stored.Yet,there is another reason why
eating b4 u sleep is bad.According to traditional Chinese doctors, our liver is responsible for digestion, and since it stops working at 10 pm,from then on,the food we eat will be stored as fat. And,wut is more important is that, the liver also works as a filter and dissolves toxic substances in the food. When u eat after 10pm,the toxic substances may not be dissolved and be stored in ur body, causing more fat(bad substances tend to turn into fat).
So,pay attention to the time u eat.Bear in mind that the liver needs to rest at around 10 pm.That explains why a majority of people in Hong Kong where i live, suffer from liver diseases such as liver cancer due to their busy lifestyle causing late eating habits.Have u experienced eating b4 u sleep and caused a stomache ache?Becoz when the liver is in a sleeping mode,it alsoaffects the stomache.
U must also pay attention to the time u go to bed so as not to damage ur liver.Since it sleeps at 10pm,we should hit the sack at that time too(if possible).

Yes you can, if you eat a large meal before bed then you will retain more fat from that food then if you would have eaten it earlier. Here's why, When you go to sleep your body almost shuts down everything slows to a crawl to repair the days damage, this means that your stomach and intestines are working very slowly to process the food left over, if you have eaten a large meal then your body is unable to break it all down to use it while you sleep, also you are not moving to burn off the extra fat that you just consumed so it stays on you. This is why breakfast should always be your largest meal of the day, lunch should be light and dinner needs to be very small.

I think it depends on your body. I have been eating every night for the past 3 yrs dinner right before I go to bed. We eat dinner very late about 9-10:00 PM. After we eat i get ready for bed and go to sleep. since June i have lost 20 lbs. All the weight is from having my last baby. I am not very active in the day time. I stay at home with my kids.

well maybe not for sure, but when you sleep your metabolism doesn't work near as hard. so if you eat a 300 calorie brownie around noon and your active you will burn off those calories in about 2 hours (because they are fat calories) depending on your metabolism. if u eat a 300 cal brownie before you go to bed, it may take up to 5 hours. See how it works? for instance, my dad works 3-11 and eats his dinner when he gets home then goes straight to bed. hes 5'9 and weighs about 270. lol. but no a bannana or apple will not hurt! just don't eat a big meal before bed every night. but those are only my experiences. it all depends on the body.

Yes. Myself, I exercise 5-6 days a week. So I eat all the junk food and fried foods. It is not what you eat, but how you work it off. I am 50, but have the body of a 25 year old. I see young women fat and out of condition. You do not have to exercise everyday to eat what you want. I also drink water with apple cider vinegar. ACV keeps the weight off. Read about ACV on the web.

I spent 10 days at an Australian Health Retreat and I learned so much. You can email newstart@lvs.com.au at any time with questions like this, they are experts. Yes, I learned that eating later at night is not good for your body, it just stops metabolising food therefore not good for ones weight factor. Dr Gary Martin is a leading expert on such issues and would advise you of the best dvd, book or whatever to get, he lectures in many countries.

not necessarily - it depends on your metabolism and how hungry you were when you ate too

you are more likely to gain weight if you eat right before bedtime, specially if you eat more than just a light snack because your body's metabolism slows down

however, if you simply only eat a few crackers or something, then i doubt you would gain weight - and if you are an athlete, you'll definitely burn up the little bit of food

no not necessarily; if you are a very active person your metabolism will keep burning through the meal even while you are asleep; if you are generally inactive and don't eat right through the day your body may choose to store the energy from the food you just ate before you went to bed. called starvation mode. everyones body and metabolism is different; you can alter your metabolism by eating right and every 2-3 hours (something small) so you should have 6 small meals a day to have optimum metabolic rate; or you can slow it down by not eating in the morning and starving yourself all day and then overeating right before you go to bed. depends on the person i guess.

No.

Sorry - not true. But, it depends on what. If you are hungry, and have a banana, probably not. If you add a pint of Ben & Jerrys, hot fudge, and whipped cream, then probably.

You shouldn't eat right before bed because you may get heart burn, and because you probably are not hungry at that time. Weight gain is determined by how many calories you consume, and how many you burn.
