My sister, Molly,is my role modle, every time we do a project on who we honor, who our role modle is, even what we care about she is always in there and she is always at driving school, work, or with friends. I really miss her, and i am scared to have her out if my life.... She is 16 and i am 12, in 2 more years she is going to collage and i will be in high school. I need my sister because i am having a hard time right now, how do i hang out with her as much as i can? I dont want to lose her and get out of touch with her.

Yeah, she's growing up and getting her new friends and soon she's going to be even busier than she is now. So take advantage of the time you guys spend together. It's okay, once she goes to college you guys still can go shopping. My sister is getting married and it seems like we spend less time together...but we arrange to spend time with eachother. :[ I know exactly how it feels!! At her "going away" party, I cried, lol. You're going to get some friends too and get your own plans, like it or not. That's just what growing up is all about. You get your own life and you will no longer always feel you need to be so close to your sister. You can always call her and email her, right?! :D Dont worry, it'll be fine!

That's so sweet....always keep your older sis at your #1...

I liked what someone said about establishing some sister time. It could be once a week or whatever works for the two of you. I hope your sis cherishes you the way you do her. There is a fine balance you two will have to establish between your separate lives and time with one another... In any case, you're on the right track :)

The best to you.....

Talk to you sister and let her know that you want to spend more time with her. Being 16 - her actions are pretty normal and she may not even realize that she is neglecting you. Tell her how much you respect her opinion and need her input on somethings that you are going through. I'm sure that once she knows that you need her help she will make time for you.

This is the sweetest thing I have heard. I would sit your sister down and tell her exactly what you just said here. She will appreciate your honesty but keep in mind that she is a teenager that is learning to drive, working, and going to school. Maybe you could ask her to sit a day aside as your day together "a sister day". Good luck!

Your Sis is special as I can tell you are too. As you get older, your relationship with your sis will grow- my sis and I are 5 years apart and I felt the same way when she went to college- I cried. But then I got to hang out at her campus, then when she got married, we hung out. Now, many years later- we are still close friends even though we don't live close by each other.
What will help you is learning to like you. Find out what you like to do, what makes you happy, what are your talents? As you grow from the inside, you will be more happy and gain other friends as well as being secure in your relationship with your Sis.

She will always be there for you because she is your sister. You can keep in touch with her by calling her and you can plan places to go with her so you can be together.
