Nope. Doesn't work. There is nothing magical about Special K that makes you lose weight. In fact, your Raisin Bran is a better cereal choice, since it is higher in fiber. Flip over the boxes of your cereal to compare, and look at the whole thing, not just the calories per serving.

The way that the Special K diet works is that you replace 2 high calorie meals with low calorie ones. You can do the same by replacing dinner with a healthy salad.

I did try it as a crash diet before my wedding. I lost some weight, but with the lack of exercise, I was not toned and not happy with the results. Since I didn't address the lifestyle that made me gain weight, the moment I went off the diet all the weight came back. The second time I lost the weight (D& E this time), when I hit the same weight, I was an entire dress size less than with Special K, and I could run 3 miles without passing out.

Diet and Exercise is the best way to go.

I've tired it and it worked of course i didn't eat the bars and stuff... i had skim milk and the special k cereals for breakfast and dinner and for lunch a light sandwich or a salad.. and i lost 30 lbs in about 6 months i started to lose weight right away... i lost 5 lbs the first week and slowly progressed through the 6 mo. span

I wouldn't switch. Raisin bran has lots of fiber, which is a good way to fill up and to keep your blood sugar stable. Special K is low in calories, yes, but it's full of sugar, salt and high fructose corn syrup. HFCS is one of those additives that makes you keep going back for more and more and more even when you're not hungry. Try cutting that out of your diet and you'll notice a big difference.

How about just watching your caloric intake, watch what you eat, cut our soda, eat lots of fruits and veggies and the weight will come off natually, healthfully and safely. You may lose weight on the Special K diet, just like any fad diet, but once you return to your normal eating habits you will gain it back plus some.

well, if all you eat is special K and mars bars, then no, probably not! It is only a cereal. the 'protein water' sounds like pond scum, if you ask me. just eat loads of good fruit and veg, that is the best thing
