Do you mean you can't make the "r" sound or you can't say the word "are"? Confusion reigns right here in my head.

If it is the R sound, call your local elementary school and ask for the speech therapist, they all have one, also there will be one at most physical rehab places, they teach stroke victims how to talk again. Please call, you have nothing to be ashamed of. I had 3 of my 4 kids in speech therapy. They will give you some exercises to do and before you know it R's will abound all around.
And from what I remember, the sound you want to be making is
"er" "er" "er" "er"

I am with the people that recommend a speech therapist. You do not know if the problem is a hearing problem, a vocalization problem or a geographical problem. If you have a hearing problem, (you don't hear the frequencies that make that sound), you can be shown diagrams to show proper tongue and lip placement to make the sound. Vocalization could be a congenital problem, like lacking all the nerve ending in your tongue, and might require surgery A geographical problem, like living in Boston, can also be worked around with a speech therapist. The process is the same. There is also the Miriam Webster Pronouncing Dictionary of the English Language. It might help you in and of its self. You may need to learn IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet). At any rate I doubt that anyone can help you actually overcome a speech impediment just by reading answers on the internet. It may help you, but you will need a properly trained person to LISTEN to you and provide realistic feedback and not just tell you your S.O.L.

When you try to say "r", do you make a "w" or "uh" sound instead? I experienced this when I was a young child, and it cleared up after some lessons with a speech therapist. Pay attention to the way you are moving your lips, mouth and tongue when you try to pronounce the word robber. Do you have trouble with the beginning of the word, the end, or both? Are you moving your mouth as though pronouncing "o" or "w"? Relax the corners of your mouth and pull the edges of your tongue up to rest gently against your top molars, leaving space between the center of you tongue and the roof of your mouth. Try to make a "errrr" sound. This may help some with practice.

With your lack of proper grammar, sentence structure and spelling, I find it very hard to believe that you have really been ACCEPTED in Civil Aviation Engineering Academy...and if you really have, then SHAME ON THEM ! If I were you, I would concentrate on learning how to speak, spell and write English a WHOLE lot better before you even think of worrying about pronouncing your "R"s. (perhaps going to a speech pathologist could help with that...)

When infants begin to vocalize, they use every sound that is used by every language. But if they don't hear a particular sound on a routine basis, they lose that sound. That's what happens with sounds such as the Kalahari click and the Welsh ll/Hebrew hard h.

You'll need to see a speech therapist of speech pathologist. Talk to your doctor about this first. That is, talk with your doctor if you school has no way to help you with one.

Seek help from a speech therapist to help you learn how to form the letter properly. Ask your family doctor to help you dind one. If this is unsuccessful, find out form your doctor why you cannot pronounce it and bring a letter stating why to your school, they cannot disqualify you for a medical problem. Good luck

Listen to the sound and try to imitate it. If you want to make a rolled r, then you must vibrate the tip of your tongue against your palate.

try putting a hot towel on the tip of your tongue. after a little, it will flush the blood to there and make it a little numb. this will make you not notice the position of your tongue and over extend into an R. this is how i learned to roll my R's. it's wierd but it wokred for me. try it
