Are the affects or symptoms of global warming local to the area in which the cause is manifest?

I don't think it is, because there is not a lot of industry in the antarctic where there are symptoms and no local causes.

Is there a range of affect?

its called global warming for a reason. the heat next to a furnace is higher than room temperature so applying the same logic, industrialized places are probably slightly hotter

The term "global warming" correctly implies the effect is global. A specific event in one location can have effects elsewhere.
E.g., Mount Pinatubo erupted in the Phillipines a few years ago, and the entire earth had spectacular sunsets for several months, plus they found ash from that eruption clear around the globe.
The earth is a single, complex system with all parts interconnected with all other parts.

It is true that all this is an interplanetary com plot to make the earth warmer, Klingons will invade earth in a few years and they prefer warmer planets, and all you pathetic earthlings are being used by them to accomplish that by brainwashing you with the TVs to make you believe that you really need a big SUV and to travel in those ridiculously slow planes that pollute as much as 5000 SUVs when taking off.
Be prepared!

Global warming is called GLOBAL for a reason.

When gasses hit the atmosphere, they spread all through it, there is very very little local about it.

There is no global warming....so, don't worry about it. What we should be worrying about is oil consumption.
