A couple of things will help you out alot ~

1. Wash your hair with good brand shampoo
2. Do NOT use conditioner in it ~ it will only lead to slicker hair quicker
3. Get a great smelling powder ~ people think its the craziest thing, but it works. Just use the powder puff and pat your head with it a couple of times. The white goes away and so does the oil
4. Keep your hands and fingers out of it. The natural oils from your body contribute to this!
5. Use some hair product like gel or hair spray~ the alcohol will help to dry your scalp out too.

Good Luck !!

Try a normalizing shampoo and conditioner. It balances out overly oily or dry hair. Continue to use conditioner so that your hair does not dry out and cause split ends. Shampoo your hair. See how long it takes befor your scalp becomes oily or uncomfortable. Not everyone needs to shampoo everyday!!!

Use products that don't ahve greasy build up....
A trick that celebrities do is that the take a little baby powder, and put it on a blush brush and apply it to areas in their hair that looks oily. Then style as usual.

buy a shampoo that says on the label that it is for oily hair, do not use moisturizing shampoos that are designed to leave a certain amount of oil in your hair as a protection against dryness,
shampoo your hair every day.

The best bet is to wash your hair daily and stop from playing with your hair throughout the day. Touch your hair as little as possible.

Keeping it clean. Also keep your hands out of it, they have oils on them they can get in your hair. You can also buy talcom powder (not sure if it is spelled right) and comb it through your hair. Lots of models do this to keep their hair from getting oily!

You should keep up on shampooing and if your hair gets oily, dust it with baby powder and also they make special hair oil absorbing powders so use that.

getting older seems to have worked for me...

actually wash it less...seriously, it is replacing it's own oil because you probably wash it so much it is constantly making the oils to keep up...try letting it go and then wash it...(must have a vacation coming up) or wear a hat...!!!
