not stupid. kinda funny its dead skin as soon as it grows past the scalp thats why hair has no feeling unless u pull it but that is really the scalp sensitivity.

The follicle under the skin is nourished by the blood supply from the scalp. This is the only part of the hair nourished by the blood. Once blood supply slows down, the follicle dies, thus causing baldness.
