I'm a dentist.
On the surface, a 3.57 GPA is competitive for dental school (and for medical school, in case you're interested), provided you're attending a somewhat-reputable school. Yes, graduate schools consider your undergraduate institution. Additionally, schools will want to know, however, how you got that GPA. They will separate your science and your non-science grades, and they'll very likely isolate your pre-dental course grades too. If you're lacking in any of these, you might have trouble. Nonetheless, a 3.57 will almost certainly earn you an interview provided your DAT scores are competitive (e.g. 19 or higher).
By the way, congrats on your A in organic chemistry. The best grade I could muster in that miserable rote memorization course was a "B" (although I kicked-*** in physics--a thinking-man's course--to make up for it!).

Yes, that is a very good GPA to have to apply to dental school but you need to have extracurriculum activities to make you stand out among the other applicants.
Remember, if you going to be a dentist, you got to be able to talk and relate to people sitting in your chair when you are working on their teeth.
Good Luck to You!

That sounds like a good GPA but it really depends on what the average GPA is for the school you want to go to.

Depending what school you go to, dental school is competitive to get in. 3.57 is a great GPA but other factors go into getting accepted.

Yes that is good enough for most schools, but DAT scores and having shadowed a dentist is pretty important. I hope you like working with your hands and don't mind people essentially saying they don't like you pretty much every day. It's a good career though.

Why not--that equals a B+ to an A-, not bad. As you said, you think your grades are going to get even better--good for you :)
