Hi..

This past holiday season I did enter lots of sweepstakes and I entered my phone number on most of my entries, and this is where i got the voicemail from..
But I don't know if any of them were called "accademy one" and i dont really remember a 3 day cruise to the bahammas with airfaire..
Does anyone know what Academy one is?
I think thats what it said..

She gave me this toll free number to call, and a confirmation code.. she said they can honor that for 24 hours.. but she didn't call from a toll free number..

What do you think of this?
Thanksssss

Well, i googled the phone number and found that lots of other people get this same message..

They require you to pick up your stuff at the "providence mall" and fill out a servey.
then they probably will require us to make tons of deposits that will never be refunded and ****.. it sounds really stupid.

I think if you posted this question here, you've got a suspicion, this is a scam. I believe it's BS, bro. Any sweepstakes that requires either a fee, or some kind of time limit, "You must reply in xxx" is a scam.
At best, the "airfare" is a cattlecar from a hub, like Atlanta, NYC, Boston. Getting there is your problem.
Secondly, you're probably going to get a low-end cruise ship (this won't be Princess/Carnival) and the cheapest room. Finally it's "TO the Bahamas". Legally they could sail to the harbor, then turn around and come back. If you are going to do this, get ALL the details, and read anything you get with a suspicious eye. Finally, ensure you get straight answers to your questions.

I just Googled "Academy One" and came up with a few photos from an Israel experience. So, they could be a travel agency...maybe. Last year, I also entered a bunch of contests and was contacted by this agency that told me that I had won a number of airlines tickets and free accomodation, and all of this other stuff, but I had to act "fast". They also wanted me to somehow end up paying something, which is against the law. This agency that your talking about sounds very similar. After a little research of my own, I discovered that this is a very common scam and the players of these agencies are being prosecuted in a big way, which I notified them of. So, all that I can tell you in this situation is, "buyer beware" and do your research before accepting any of their terms. If they are legit, then have a nice vacation.

If you read the fine print after it names the cruise line it says or equivalent. What they consider equivalent is a 50 year old ferry boat. The meals are a terrible buffet and a room is probably extra. You end up paying fees for the FREE trip of hundreds of dollars. You can now go on a 7 day cruise to Mexico for as low as $350 per person on a major cruise line. ₪ ɦəlʞɹɐq ₪
