He said: Tell me -- out of the maybe 20 or so women I could probably have...Why Ms. ----, why should I pick this one... why should I pick you?

Ok.. he asked me in the middle of doin it....... and I managed to get out a " because I appreciate you" He said that's not good enough.... and I couldn't even bring myself to answer what I was thinking next....... I was thinkin: Because I'm loving it and loving you. Should I have said it??. Was he really wanting a response???

Any opinions about this????? Does that mean he is considering a proposal???? I believe he already picked early on....... and I have been with him for 4 years now.... with no signs of it ending any time soon.

And FYI... he is always telling me that it's a good p...s...y
He surely does not have lots of women all over him.......... It was just odd....

Many times I think he wants me to tell him how I feel about him yet, he never shares his feelings with me....

You probably should have said that you love him instead of you appreciate him. Maybe he wanted to know why you think that he should spend the rest of his life with you. Then again, he might have been just roll playing. Who konws what was going through his mind. Try asking him. Just ask him what was he thinking when he said that. Dont jump to conclusions about marriage. Dont get all excited about something that you dont know if it is going to happen. If he proposes to you, dont you want to be unexpected, a total surprise, something that he does all on his own, and not because you talked about it all the time or pressured him? Not saying that you have I am just saying dont mention that you thought he may have been thinking about marriage.

okay, wow this is a tough one. I think he wants you to tell him how much he means to you. It's not so much to show a man how much you care, but telling them. They need to hear it as much as we'd like to as well. Though typically you'll find that you will always give more than receive. Now I said "typically", not all men.
I think to some degree he wants you to know that he's desireable and maybe sending you a message that you don't make him feel that way very often. Maybe he needs to see a wee-bit of jealous behavior or maybe some sexual initiative or whatever coming from you so he feels that someone is still Jonesin' for his mojo. Guys egos are fragile and are harmed even when your not doing anything. And what I mean by that is literally 'not doing anything' to keep them strong. They need stroking.
Hope this helps and I sure hope he doesn't keep making comments like that one at the worst possible times.

It freaks me out that he says that during *sex.* He should have "picked" before doing the most intimate thing possible with you. Maybe he's playing mind games with you/is feeling insecure about committment he's considering. Honestly, it sounds like he's full of himself/on an ego trip and not really considering how that would make you feel. But that's just my "female perspective" on how we should be treated. Maybe ask what he meant by asking you that...

Please explain to me why on Earth you would stay with a man who asks you a question like that at a time like that???!!! How distracting, rude, and conceited of him!!!!!

If you don't know, after 4 years of dating, that this guy is going to propose marriage and stay with you the rest of your lives, based on a stupid question he asked during sex, then--you're not too bright...

Sorry, but GET A CLUE!!

I think he wants you to make him feel more "manly" when he's doing this while you are in the act. Next time, ask him something crazy when he thinks he is really giving it good to you and let him see how it feels.

ICK,
If he would have said that to me, he would be been wiping sand off of his penis because I would have dried up so quick.....
sounds like he thinks that you should be greatful to be with him and now you must articulate why....
I hope that you stop seeing this loser.
He sounds like and azz and believe me when I tell you, it is going to get worse before it gets better.

Tell him how you feel!
If your relationship has been going strong for that many years he won't ridicule you.

That is strange that you two have been together for so long and you two don't talk about how you feel about eachother.
