I realize that artists' prices vary depending on their experience and talent, but i was wondering how much a full sleeve tattoo would cost, on average. Also, how much time would one take?

wrist to shouler?$1200 to $2000-no colours-just outline and greywash-depends on detail 8 hours to 3 days-obviously the more detail the bigger the price-ask a tattooist and be a bit more specific what you want-it's kinda like-how long is a piece of string???

it also depends on how much detail, how large your arm is, etc.

most artists i know of charge between $100-150 an hour, though I've seen some up to $200/hour. the most important thing to you should be to find someone who does amazing work in the style you want - ie. if you like traditional work, go for the best traditional artist you can find.

fwiw, i just got started on a half sleeve, it will probably take between 9-15 hours by the time it's finished. a full sleeve would be anywhere from 10-30, depending on the factors I mentioned above. you'll have to go for several sittings, and most artists will charge you per sitting, so if you're worried about the cost, it'll be spread out over a longer period of time - which makes it a little easier.

One of the best artist I know charges $100 per hour for work like this (rather than quote you a fixed price). He also charges a pretty stiff up front fee if his has to put the design down on paper first. Most artists will take your ideas and whatever images you want to use and using their natural creative talents will create a sleeve for you. Depending on how much detail and color you want a sleeve could take anywhere from 8 to 18 hours. Its really hard to say. Dude...a sleeve is serious ****...make sure the design is something you can live with for the rest of you life....and the artist is the best you can find, don't shop around for the cheapest price. This sleeve should be a piece of art ....not a piece of crap

Chances are you'll be charged hourly which can run an average of $100-$150 an hour. You're also looking at a few sessions running about 3-6 hours each.

Best way to know for sure is to ask the artist who will be doing the tattoo what they are going to charge you. Usually if you have to ask how much its gonna be, its a good sign that you can't always afford it.
