If the father is atheist, he becomes either agnostic or a theist because he realizes that his child is a miracle devoid of scientific truth. Then he dedicates his fallible life to his child and willingly accepts to acknowledge any misperfections with the aim of being the best he can be - realizing that he will never be perfect. He aims to lead and guide, but not force, his children to success with the caveat that money is not the exclusive measure of success. He aims to teach his kids that above all, under no circumstance will his love for the kids ever disappear. To show the kids how truly special they are.

It's a person who is willing to be there for you no matter what. He's willing to listen to you sob after a break up with a friend or whatever. Listening is a great skill for a dad to have. Patience like when he teaches you how to drive is good too. My father's passed away and I miss him alot. Tell you dad you love him often.

A man with patience and compassion for his children. One who spends time with them because he wants to, not just because he has to. Someone who puts his childrens' needs before anything he wants. A good father knows when to scold his kids and when to take them in his arms and hold them tight. He is also flawed like every other human being, but tries hard not to be and apologizes when he should.

A man who wants to be in a childs life. Wants to listen and give advice. A dad who wants to take you out to dinner and then shopping. A dad you can watch the game with and have a beer. just someone who cares. A man who will go to every baseball/ soccer game/ football game and cheer you on. A man that can tell you the truth without being mean about it.

I think I had the greatest father. He worked to support my Mom, me and 2 brothers. He was a romantic and treated my mother very well, He was always good to people and helped out whenever he could including mowing an elderly neighbor's lawn. And, he was a reader and taught me to love books and words. Not to mention that he was you kids call "hot." It never went to his head. Both my parents were saints, and I miss them very much.

A man who loves his kids and would do anything for them. Even if he can't do such a great job at it, he has to at least try and provide everything his kids will ever need! He has to look after them when they're small and protect them from all dangers. And when they're all grown up and think they're all independant and on their own, he still has to watch over them and try and protect them from all dangers. Oh yeah, and he has to not forget to give them lots of money!! J/k!
