A man lived to be 125.
A young reporter went to interview him.
He asked the old man, "Sir, how is it you lived to be 125?"
And the old man said, "Well, I just never did argue with nobody."
And the young reporter said, "Ah come on! It had to be more than that! Either you
ate good, or you never smoked or never drank! It had to be something else?"
And the old man just looked at him and said, "You're probably right."

I don't know about 125...but research has shown that people who have more education live longer (by far....this is one of the most influential factors)...those who are wealthy also live longer (acording to a similar research). Genes also play a role. There is a certail Jewish population that lives well into their 90's and 100's despite bad lifestyle habits like smoking and eating unhealthy.
Eating healthy, non smoking and drinking excessively and having a positive outlook on life also help a lot. As an example, vegatarians and vegans life 6 to 10 years longer than meat eaters.
Living in a part of the world where the old are considered wiser and bettet than the young also help. According to Dr. Deepak Chopra (holistic doctor and ayurveda expert) people in a certain part of Kazakstan (I believe but I am not sure) live well into their 90's and 100's. In that region of the world 100 year old men and women have been seen riding horses. Reason! They live life without regar to time and the old are highly regarded and are envied by the young for their wisdom. Also they do not have set limit on age like we have here in the US. For example the retirement age is 62....which mean that as peole approach this age they expect to be less beneficial to society and for their health to deteriorate...and guess what happens. People became less active and their health deteriorated. In addition when people of a certain age see those around them getting sick and dying at the same age; it somehow sets a certain expectation for getting sick and dying and eventually the mind creates your reality.
In that certain part of Kazhakstan (I believe), men and women are able to run faster in their 60's than in their 30.'s. I am not saying this, it is Dr. Deepak Chopra that said it.

Learning to breath properly (slowly and deeply) somehow adds years to your life.
Get some books by Dr. Andrew Weil or Dr. Deepak Chopra.

And one more thing! People that volunteer or offer some kind of help to the less fortunate are healthier (and some heal through spontaneous healing when they decide to help out others) which could contribute to a longer life. Being connected to others has also health benefits that could contribute to a healthier and longer life. I hope I gave you the most complete answer that I could give you! Share the knowledge! Make the world a better place!

That's pretty clever. The issue of age is irrelevant. Example:

A man grew a 25 foot long beard over night.
A young reporter went to interview him.
He asked the old man, "Sir, how is it you grew your beard so fast?"
And the old man said, "Well, I just never did argue with nobody."
And the young reporter said, "Ah come on! It had to be more than that! You had to have taken hair growth! It had to be something else?"
And the old man just looked at him and said, "You're probably right."

No, I wanna die when the time is right.......and I don't determine that. My great grandfather died at age 115. His mind wasn't clear at all, but he had so much energy (for a person that age). Still, I wanna live my life to the fullest. I believe in enjoying life because it is a gift from God or whatever higher entity you believe in. For example, I believe in full enjoyment of a sexual life. I am not promiscuous (I'm monogamous/married) but I believe that it is the preparation, duration, and culmination what makes it so satisfying. This might have been a bad example, but basically the longevity of life is determined by the person's lifestyle. Abstaining from drinking or smoking will not necessarily make you live longer; but what you have in your heart and mind when you pass through all the chapters of your particular life. Life's book is opened, written, and edited everyday.........we just have to give it a shot and live without hesitating.
