Hi ...don't worry it's not bad for you ...if u get the urge to swallow it ...then hurry and grab a piece of paper and spit it out !!

I personally don't like the feeling of swallowing gum !
You will eventually poop it out anyway !!

The story about it staying in your system for a long time is wrong. There's nothing wrong with swallowing gum. I was kinda curious about this too. Obviously it's not recommended, but it will come out the other end just like any other food would. There are no longterm effects associated with this, and at the very worse, you might get diarrhea very temporairly because of the sugar subsitutes. You have nothing to worry about :)

Well all the crap in gum i wouldn't recommend swallowing it, but i think you know it's bad and want to stop...

Stop chewing gum for a while, maybe that'll somehow ingrain it into yourself that you need to spit it out when you do chew.

Chew gum for like a certain interval and spit it out consciously... basically the idea is to train yourself to do it.

Just think about it. The more you think about it the more conscious it'll be swallowing it, like as soon as you swallow you'll be like 'ah crap', and next time you might remember before you swallow it. Just train yourself... or give up chewing gum altogether.

Does you no harm what so ever . . . don't listen to the others who say you can't breathe after you've swallowed a hubba bubba, go for it . . . stomach acid will destroy anything

do not rely on this in court if you happen to be claiming against a 'bubble/chewing' gum manufacturer or indeed you are the proprieter of a gum making business

When I was little, my dad used to tell us(my 10 siblings) that if you swallowed gum & ate ice cream, the gum would stick to your backbone.
Pretty funny as an adult & knowing that it is in your stomach & cannot reach your backbone.
But it did the trick when we were kids.
There should be no harm from it as it would leave your body the same way as any other food you consume.
Also, it is better than throwing it on the ground if you don't have access to a garbage can. :)

Gum goes hard. You will have a huge brick of hard gum inside your stomach and in time your whole internal mechanism will be one hard huge amount of gum. I suggest you go and see a doctor to find out if this gum can be removed before it takes you over following which we at Wrigleys can put a big wrapper on you and sell you as the largest piece of gum.

You digest the gum the same as any other food. The whole "it takes 7 years to digest" bit is just an old urban legend.

Stop chewing gum, for at least a month? Then try again.

Its a myth that swallowing gum is dangerous. It will turn to roughage and be digested like everything else you eat
