i wanna be his friend instead but he doesn't really talk to me seems very quiet around people who are not his close friends. What should i say to him to start conversation or to get him to like me besides be yourself!! whats a good conversation to start up!!! thanks

Well first of all why do you think you friend deserves him and not you? Don't give up so easily. But a good conversation starter could be, "hey man don't talk so much..." obviously your kidding, and maybe you can get a smile out of him and then take it from there. Just be forward and friendly, sometimes guys like that. You will be able to tell if he is interested in being your friend or not. Just never pursue anyone who doesn't want to be pursued. Good Luck!

i had the same problem...xcept i was in love with this guy that my two other friends liked... as it turns out he is my best friend now and. my advice would be to start by just saying hey to him when u see him. do that for a while (like until hes used to u talking to him) and then just say hey one day like u usually do and then compliment him on something (it could be anything! it doesn't matter people love getting compliments and they will start to think ur really nice and they will want to get to no u better) then start talking about something u have in common... a class or teacher maybe.. once u make urself known he probably wont be as shy, then u can talk about ne thing!...it worked for me!

"hey how are you doing"
every conversation starts with a hey. so once that starts and he replies it will be all natural. just talk about anything. get to know eachother.
there are tons of things to talk about if you don't know eachother! their age, birthday, what they are into, experiences, etc etc etc
